your local elder embellished his own viewpoint when reading the letter, he should be taken to task for that. no wonder you got fed up if this is an example of who you had to work with. dear cantleave - i think flt elder brings alot more credibility to the forum than some punk kid that does'nt want to live by scriptural standards. also dear gb, do'nt piss on us and tell us it's raining!

This is a typical emotional appeal from the Watchtower.
At our hall - we phoned in - the speaker went on and on about his 'days in Bethel service' and what a wonderful privilege it was. And...if you don't have construction skills to assist the project, each publisher can support the project with funds.
My brother said that at his hall an elder was standing in the lobby handing out the Temporary Service applications.
The Watchtower uses the tent revival model to get what it needs from it's members....because it works.

The body of elders if it is smart at all, will give clarification on his part. In my old hall they would make a brief announcement to correct that if it happened. It is so dumb to imagine god whispering in the ear of the GB that they have time to build new place before end, but that still no one knows the day or hour.

That's just some looney local elder talking nonsense.
Different day, same BS.

I'm a 'long term' inactivator
-
erbie
I'm really smug about that...
Not to mention that I'm pretty sure I've invented a new word!

I wonder what scriptures they are using to back this up! LOL ... crazy crazy crazy ....

Witness My Fury
Damn well wish i had been an Inactivator, especially a faithful long term Inactivator, then I could also feel smug about not being so totally duped for so bloody long....
-
erbie
Oh, I was duped for some time but eventually obeyed my intuition and became a true and faithful inactivator.
Being an inactivator isn't a cult though, so don't worry...

Personally, I'm glad that you have been in a position to know
the stuff that I don't know.
Glad that you are here ...instead of some I could mention from
my old hall! LOL

Really interesting how the gb have maneuvered circumstances to
get this playland project done.
Who was it who said "a fool and his money are soon parted" ...
