I would hardly call Climate scientists "the elite", they simply collect and analyse data. The predictions they make are based on evidences extracted from the data.

You are free to make any hard prediction you wish concerning climate doom and we can judge your 'facts' thereby.

I predict that conspiracy theorists will prophesy a climate of doom until the global elite establish a new world order.

The denier community aren't interested in how the scientific method encourages predictions to be modified with new information. They prefer a world of certainty based on ideology, rather than one with a range of outcomes and probabilties.

James Lovelock is another climate change doom-monger who has retracted his more extreme views. There is a lot of politics, money and dare I say it superstition involved in scientific pronouncements. It's foolish to imagine otherwise.

Climate scientists generally aren't the elite but that doesn't mean their results can't be guided in a particular direction.

Once authorities pronounce, 'the science is settled' , quiet suppression can set in as to who gets published - or shouted down, in effect. The BBC has been accused of this. Researchers want a career and that might be inhibited by 'wrong opinions'. Politicians want to get along with the greedy power brokers so they utter nonsense about new storms 'proving' climate change. Al Gore gets rewarded with a Nobel Prize and spouts doom and gloom that reaches the headlines.

This is isn't a black vs white subject. I just feel that it has been exaggerated, that other concerns are more important and that new climate insights such as Allan Savory's work on desertification need the attention, not greedy schemes from elites.

Climate change scientists and hucksters have many disciples who manifest more of a religous fervor than a scientific interest.

Explains the emotional component of believers who simply cannot abide those who are skeptical.

    "deniers" are the apostates.

OK glad that you have 'generally' excluded scientists from your elite. But, specifically how does this 'guiding' happen? Please give a few examples of how this guiding works on an every day basis.

Does a scientist about to publish a paper for peer review get an email from a global elitist suggesting a few changes etc?

You're just cherry-picking. He has "retracted his more extreme views" towards mainstream climate science. He still believes humans are driving a warming planet.

    Nothing to see here.

next up - Glander describes how to play the man, not the ball.
