RED LIGHT WARNING IN DECEMBER WT FOR UK

    Attention all UK congregations:

The December 15th 2013 Study edition contains a study article which will be used to 'prime' the sheep for fleecing in 2014 - in order to finance the new UK Branch complex.

    For those who are prepared to speak up on behalf of their hard pressed brothers and sisters, raise your hand and ask one relevant question before the elders' probable resolution/s - either to send a chunk of your congregation's bank balance to Mill Hill, or for each publisher to 'pledge' as much as they can;

"Can the body of elders explain to the congregation why the new Branch isn't being self- financed by the mi££ions gained from the sale of all the London properties? If not, I'd like to propose that we postpone asking our brothers and sisters for their money until this is clarified."

The elder assigned to do the dirty deed will try to rush the "proposal" through without questions being asked, so you will have to be alert and ready to raise your hand (and perhaps your voice!) very quickly.

It will take courage, but you can do it if you really care about what's taking place!

Has anyone come up with estimates on how much $$$ the old bethel is going to bring in?

I'm starting to think the WTS is in a much worse financial position than I ever imagined with all of this property being flipped.

In a way the appearance of anonymity in donating (yes, Caesar requires specific identification to get the proper forms for donations above $250 a pop, in the US anyway), allows the unwilling or fundless to not give. I heard a saying from my husband (the accounts servant) that people at the hall tended to vote with their pocketbook. I felt that those who were looking for advancement or "special" privileges tended to make sure that the proper people knew they were giving.

As in anything at the KH, don't let people at the KH guilt you into things.

As the Bible says, God likes a cheerful giver, but the WTS will take crabby ones.

    2 Corinthians 9:7

    New International Version (NIV)

7 Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.

I said a couple of years ago that the WTS was cash poor since the changes in 1990 with set prices for the publications ending. But they can only last so long from the cash from sales of property. Building property is one thing, but the costs of annual upkeep are another. I worked handling budget/facilities care for 18 large instituions. The owner is now having to sell buildings and combine functions of others because money is scarce.

Could new light be requiring tithing....the WTS could spin that.

Tithing would be easy to back up scripturally, at least using the OT which the WTS loves to do.

I can't imagine they would use the annual meeting to roll that out, invite hundreds of thousands to a meeting where they are basically going to be told that they are losing 10% of their money for the rest of their lives.

Nu lite like that would surely piss of even some of the die hard witnesses.

Yes, money is important to jws...my husband said that few gave, just a core group. In a local Lutheran church, don't pay their dues, no funeral performed for their family, no weddings, and they can't take communion. Or if you give money, your name willl appear on the bench, or the stained glass window, etc. The last communion one would mean nothing to jws.

I have seen quite a few "adjustments" since 1962, maybe they will do it in small steps and change the vocabulary.

I still remember changing the 1914 generation doctrine; quite a few older jws found that hard but imagined that the WTS had taken a misstep and that God was not on board. That was my family and they have all passed on expecting to wake up in the new system.

The Watchtower Society sits on millions but has a callous disregard for the millions of people it keeps impoversihed. It could self fund the buildiing but they would prefer to take more money from the congregations.

They have to keep Mill Hill running and printing whilst they build they will then transfer the equipment across and then sell the London buildings. The build will need to be funded first. The society could take out a short term loan but why should they when there are people willing to throw money at them no questions asked. As they are only paying for materials not labour the new facilities will be built for a fraction of the cost of any commercial build.

The sickening thing is that they are not asking to borrow from the congregations they are taking from them and when the London properties are sold they will not be giving anything back they will be rubbing their hands and making pure profit.

And, according to the W 12/15/13 study article, even a poor family in Africa is expected to block off a certain percentage of their vegetable garden and sell their food- all so the WT has more money to build their real estate empire.

15 In one very poor country in Africa, some brothers mark off a small section of their garden and use the funds from the sale of the produce from that section to support the Kingdom work.

So are we (and I am using the term 'we' quite loosely) suggesting tithing, not by the individual, but by the congregation?

It's disgusting they'd take food from African subsistence farmers. Food they could feed to their children or buy them school books by selling...makes me sick.
