Those children's identity/blood cards were totally pointless to me. Never used them, despite still holding to most aspects of the blood doctrine at the time. In an emergency situation, the authorities would just overrule the parental no-blood stance anyway, even if they did have time to consult parents or read a card with all the legal clout of a wet fish. If it was not an emergency, then there could be parent-doctor negotiation and the id/blood card was redundant. What was the point of having one?
who signed your blood card?

Honesty
It has been so long since I had one of the Death Wish cards that I don't remember if it was signed before I tore it up.

Aunt Fancy
I know my husband and an elder signed mine but when I found out about the lies I put it through the shredder. It sure did feel good to get rid of that card.

Phizzy
The last one I had that was actually signed was signed by the Elder who took our Group Study. That was several years before I left, I stopped carrying one, I don't know why, laziness ?
Mrs Phizzy and I used to be given the blank new ones, both the cards and the longer form, and then do nothing about it.

The information on my blood card was old as hell. What sucked. Was that for each pregnancy i had to update it, and i hated that. Made me scared as hell each time wheni was delivering that something would happen. Im sorry, but my brain was fried while in, and i don't know what i would have done. Makes me feel so sick and so embarrassed now. How horrible that i was so blind. Im trying to get over the shame of being a JW. :'( :'( :'(
