Everytime I think of my family, I just shake my head. I so wish they would acknowledge at least something, but, alas, it's all about obedience with them.

This gives us hope for our friends mother who is almost ninety, husband passed away two months ago, both in a jw nurseing home and now she calls her son who has faded for almost two years, crying that she doesn't understand this new crap. He would love to tell her but again she is in a jw nurseing home and there's nothing he can do. He has a sister who drinks the koolaid and is married to a whimp of a husband who is an elder. This is so good to hear your great news. Wish all our elderly could get out. To me, I'd rather be physically abused than mentally. This cult will pay one day.

Minumus and WhatHapped thanks for giving me hope for my 86 year old in-laws. FIL will still speak to my hubby for about 5 minutes on the phone tops. At least he doesn't hand up-- yet.

The point is---you never know what can happen. In the case of my mom, even if she remains a Witness, I KNOW it's not the type the Watchtower Organization especially is thrilled about.

Congratulations minimus on helping your mother to critically think for herself. As long as your mother does not donate another penny to the WTBTS or have them in her will that is a very good thing!!
