I remember when I was a baptized teenager and accompanied my mother on one of her studies if she forgot a scarf, she would take a tissue out of her purse and put it on her head.
It is actually very sad - and makes me quite angry. She was extremely smart, but was constrained by religion and culture. I wish for my daughters that they inherit the intellect from my mother, but not the willingness to be subservient to ass-holes.
What about a mother who goes on a study session along with her baptized 10 yr old son?
