As abhorent as this is, it certainly is not unique to JW's. No one should be phyiscally or emotionally assaulted for expressing their personal beliefs. Unfortunately, these types of incidents are not unique. Last week, Islamists attacked a Christian church in Pakistan and killed numerous people...just because they were Christians. Yesterday, rebels in Nigeria attacked a college and killed scores of students while they slept in their dorms because this rebel group hates western education. The acting out of violence because "we don't like what you think" is disgusting...and I have no doubt JW's would do the same to apostates if it weren't illegal.

Designs " The bullets went up in the air, did this gun nut ever consider where they might land like on a litle kid or mother."

Or maybe even an unsuspecting innocent male, lol

This alone would be good reason to stop taking your kids from door to door, real life people, wake up and do your best to prevent your loved ones, kids especially, from going to peoples doors.

There's a lot of risk goin' D2D. When there are safer ways to preach that won't burden the sheep

    and the WTS knows this

" in the 1920's, another instrument became available to give wide publicity to the Kingdom message. Brother Rutherford felt strongly that the hand of the Lord was manifest in it's developement. What was it ? Radio. Less than two yers after the worlds first commercial radio station began regular broadcasts ( in 1920 ) , J.F. Rutherford, president of the Watch Tower Society, went on the air to broadcast Bible truth. Here was an instrument that could reach millions of people simultaneously. Within two more years, in 1924, the Society had its own radio station, WBBR, in operation in New York. By 1933, the peak year, 408 stations were being used to carry the message to six continents. In addtion to live broadcast, programs on scores of subjects were prerecorded. Intense local advertising by distribution of printed announcements was done so that people would know about the broadcasts and could benefit from them. These Broadcasts broke down much prejudice and opened the eyes of honesthearted ones. Many people, out of fear of thier neighbors and clergy, held back from attendidng meetings sponsored by the Bible students, but this did not stop them from listening to the radio in the privacy of their own home. The broadcast did not replace the need forhouse-to-house witnessing; but they did carry Bible truths to places that were hard to reach, and they provided excellent openings for conversations when the Witnesses personally visited the homes."__________Proclaimers of Gods Kingdom book page 562

" Although radio and television broadcast been used to spead the Kingdom message, Jehovah's Witnesses recognize that the personal contact made possible by house to house calls is far more effective. It affords better opportunity to answer the questions of individual householders and to search out deserving ones. That is why, in 1957, the Watch Tower Society sold radio station WBBR in Newy york."___Proclaimers of Gods Kingdom Book page 572

What Bunk !!!! Why would they choose the slowest means for a message they claim as " URGENT "

We should be glad that it wasn't left to the Jehovah's Witnesses to warn folks 'bout Hurricane Katrina

They would have only warned the ones they thought to be " Deserving ones "

Phizzy, if those pesky angels made his gun jam then his actions would not have become known and there would be no persecution story to relate at the conventions and in the literature. LOL.

Where were the 2 big guys (angels) that the man was suppose to see that would scare him from getting his gun and shooting?

I have asked three times to be added to the do not call list, plus I called and left a message at the hall, they still come. Of course, there is no excuse for shooting a gun over it, but I can relate to his frustration. I work from home and it is very annoying to be interrupted, often I am covered in paint and don't look presentable, but if I ignore them they just keep coming back.

Ultimately, you are dealing with a bunch of amateur volunteers, some children, with a very haphazard system of recording info ... scribbled not on a piece of paper that probably get's lost or discarded by someone along the chain.

Although they can seem annoying they don't usually call that often and i's not really onerous to answer the door now and again.

But yeah, you can't not-answer because you don't know who it is ... I wouldn't want to miss out on the opportunity for Girl Scout cookies !!
