When people do not read what is in the Bible, and only accept what their church leaders tell them without verifying if what they are being taught is actually in the Bible, then they are likely to follow men instead of really listening to God.
So, I will leave you these magazines, and how about when I come back we study with the Bibleifthere is a true religion?

Now there's a contradiction if I've ever seen one.

    HI,

I have the same talk tomorrow...I'm newly baptized, so I'm using the reasoning book..not too much of my own words..I'm giving the kool-aide version.

This is a good line...The Householder can say, Why are there so many religions...& the one giving the talk, can say, The message has been given & everyone has heard it, but everybody hears & reacts to it differently. Man's interpretation. Then the householder could say...Wouldn't it have been nice to be there to hear Jesus really speak...WITHOUT MAN'S INTERPRETATION....then your GF, can take it from there...Make them think. I do it all the time...no matter what I say, they always say...Hmmmm, That's true...you have to speak their language but then add your own spin. I asked my study conductor something to make her frown...so those who saw the light before the FDS, & were DF'd, would the ORG. call them back because now they are right? This is stuff that makes them think, especially if you ask in innocence...

Also, my CO is coming the same day I'm giving my talk...so everyone is all up in arms about their talk...I wrote mine a while ago...I won't change it just to impress the CO...He is just a man...

I saw the Kool-aide when I came there..I pray to God, if this is not where I'm supposed to be, let me know..but don't make it hurt...like getting DF'd

An active, 75-year-old raised-in JW emailed me a copy of her rendition of this material. She asked me to "critique" her talk. I was surprised, because she knows I haven't gone to the meetings in over two years, and she hasn't asked in a while. (I guess I was convincing enough with my subtle questions during our last lunch together.) She put all the emphasis on "studying the Bible Teach book to compare doctrines". I suggested she change the wording to "examine Bible teachings from the pages of your very own copy of the Bible in order to learn "the Truth" about what it teaches."

She was so appreciative! She didn't get it.

Wow, my wife has the same talk. She went over it with me last night and I noticed many similarities as if the witnesses all read from the same script. I suppose they do, no original thought here.

Her take on the question was that people become disgruntled with their church over doctrine or other issues, leave the church, and find another one nearby. On some level, I could accuse Pastor Russell of doing this.
