Besides any of the par-for-course absurdities mentioned above, or stupid condecending jokes, there were no other major changes to doctrine. 144,000 is still a litteral number. No tithing instituted. Bible dumbed down.

The new app was the only other release. Available monday on windows 8, android, and apple platforms.
They demo'd the app. The cool feature is that if you're on a verse and click the number of the verse, 5 other translations will appear. One of them is supposed to be the King James...but Im suspicious if its truly unaltered in any way.
They are waaaay too comfortable modifing the Bible these days.

Wait armagedon is coming before the year 3000? Can someone elaborate without hyperbole as to how that was arranged at? Was there an actual reason?
I guess that is one way to do it. Throw a date so far out there that nobody will be alive to know if you were full of it.

It was an offhand comment by losch - before the end of the milenium. But others have mentioned that he could have been referring to Jesus reign or something.

Interesting. The WT used to use the KJ, then abandoned it because it was not good enough. Hence the need for the NWT. Now that there's a New New World Translation, the WT makes the KJ available again.
WT often says if you don't move with the Org. you'll get left behind; more accurately, if you stand in the same spot the Org will eventually come full circle right back to where you've been standing all along.
