  Getting to know the only true God in this way is really a never-ending process, as is brought out clearly in the rendering of John 17:3 in the New World Translation of the Holy Scriptures. Here the correct tense of the verb “to know” helps greatly, for the present continuous tense is used rather than the simple present tense. Hence, we read: “This means everlasting life, their taking in knowledge of you, the only true God, and of the one whom you sent forth, Jesus Christ.” Yes, continuing to take in knowledge of the only true God, Jehovah, and of his Son, Jesus Christ, is a process that should never end.

  I agree with Terry. I was like, " WTH?!" I sent Raypublisher a text, wondering WHY the WTBTS would include other versions with their app. The JWs have been spiritually dying, starving for decades. The gaping maws of the R&F beg to be filled, the END is still not here. What's an GB/FDS to do?

  Simple, it's called a peemptive strike. The info is getting out, the leaks can't be stopped, the internet can't be turned off. " Starving people will eat garbage", says the GB/FDS. So they leak the information themselves to fill a vacuum of their own making. They praise the older GB for the NWT while unvieling the RNWT. The sheeple believe the Org is progressive. Perhaps many on the verge of awakening will drift back to sleep and set the JW autopilot, meetings, field service, repeat, repeat, repeat.... The Org gives some food to the ones that they starved for decades. They eliminate the reasoning book and establish a new epoch. They are now bible heroes of even greater renown than Christ's own disciples! Things never looked better.

  I was just thinking the other day that the change to GB=FDS was VERY convienient to the release of the RNWT. It sure does enable them to give themselves an immediate and shameless pat on the back.

  I heard of an elder who was proudly showing the new rendering of John 17:3 to a householder.

  The householder got out his Bible and showed him that for years Christendom's translations have said "know" rather than "taking in knowledge".

  I think the new NWT says "coming to know."

  Also, I believe they still insert "other" four times in Colossians 1:16-17, this time without brackets.

  The word is not in the Greek text, as the interlinear shows.
