Not to mention the sheer stupidity of encouraging the public to look up "Jehovah's Witneeses" on the internet. Anyone smart enough to type the letters g-o-o-g-l-e is going to immediately find dozens of well-reserached websites explaining why it's not a good idea to study with JWs.
I feel comfortable going one more level.
A couple of years ago in a conversation with a "pioneer", I talked about information in their material that I was uncomfortable with. She asked where I got the information and warned that I "must not go to ANY other website other than ..." then she wrote down two or three "WTS approved" sites.
I asked her how I'd know that the information was accurate if I didn't look at the arguments for and against the ideologies. My brain shut down with her first few sentences. All I remember was that I got a 3-5 minute dissertation on Satan who knows the JWs represent the Truth ruling the internet and that, to be safe, I needed to stay away from all other sites. I couldn't believe what I was hearing.
For any non-jw reading this - it's one thing to read about these instances and reason that the stories represent isolated events and people. When you really get what's going on, experiencing events like this will take you to another level of concern for them.
My guess is that within two years they will discontinue the public paper WT/AW and just have the study edition in paper format.

It looks like after the annual meeting many are buying tablets or talking about it to download the new apps
It is speculation of course, there may not come a directive but it sure looks like it is setting up for it. internal peer pressure may induce dubs to go digital in field service

I think Google should follow their example. Print a magazine about Google that says you should visit Google. Yep, makes totally sense.

I think there would need to be significant advances is battery technology for tablets to be used on the ministry.
