I think he was the one that kept saying. " uh" throught out his entire time in that video. Give him a big "W" since he needs to work on that a bit.

Looking at their smiling faces reminds me of the phrase "the banality of evil".

I'm not convinced Sanderson is receiving disproportionate coverage to other GB members since his appointment. That said, he does strike me as very smug and self-assured on this new video - especially towards the end. He seems to effortlessly slip into the seemingly-popular habit of speaking on behalf of the entire Governing Body.

You can safely say he feels no compulsion to take a back seat or learn the ropes from his more experienced colleagues. He may be a rookie, but you wouldn't know it.

[Edit - I've just remembered one disproportionate thing about Sanderson, and that is the illustrated article on him in the July 15 2013 Watchtower when his appointment was finally announced in writing. I may be wrong but in years gone by new Governing Body members would get maybe a brief paragraph to introduce them. You could say Sanderson got a bit more than that.]

Notice these screenshots from the World Headquarters—History Is Being Written video.

The first one is @ 1:37" for the Bethel Family's Morning Worship:

Here is the very next image, a mere few seconds later @ 1:42"

    Who do we worship?

Who is it we worship again?

A phrase coined by Hannah Arendt to describe Adolf Eichmann. Seems a bit over the top.

So the GB sees fit to make him more visible so that the friends can familiarize themselves with him.

I don't think this indicates a lack of humility or modesty.

    - Cedars: I'm not convinced Sanderson is receiving disproportionate coverage to other GB members since his appointment.

It may not be disproportionate, but he certainly is very prominently placed.

What was it Jesus said about not seeking prominence? Oh, I forgot, as you pointed out on your JWSurvey article about this video: They didn't even mention Jesus in this video, not once!

If there is even any deliberate intent to promote him more than the others, which I doubt is the case, then the obvious reasons are because he's comparatively a lot younger than the rest of them, and so your typical congregational elder might relate to him more. And he is the newest, and so they want everyone to get used to him a bit more. He also seems to have a rather more neutral, plain, friendlier looking demeanour and face, like a typical, white, middle-aged pasty accountant or something.

He's also not quite as typically staunch Oberfuhrer looking as most of the GB have tended to be over the years.

To answer my own question in post 1325:

[Jesus] then went on to tell the invited men an illustration, as he marked how they were choosing the most prominent places for themselves, saying to them: “When you are invited by someone to a marriage feast, do not lie down in the most prominent place. Perhaps someone more distinguished than you may at the time have been invited by him, and he that invited you and him will come and say to you, ‘Let this man have the place.’ And then you will start off with shame to occupy the lowest place. But when you are invited, go and recline in the lowest place, that when the man that has invited you comes he will say to you, ‘Friend, go on up higher.’ Then you will have honor in front of all your fellow guests. For everyone that exalts himself will be humbled and he that humbles himself will be exalted.” - Luke 14:7-11
