Why would you got back because you had a fight with your boyfriend? Yes, bad things happen whether you are a JW or not, leaving is no guarantee your life will be perfect, but your life can be great, it's all up to you. Happy Birthday, and I hope your day gets better.
Tell the boyfriend to take a hike. Go get involved in some really interesting hobby. For instance, take up target shooting. Lots of guys do that. Learn to shoot a hand gun. Take up golf. Learn fencing, either the sword or the garden kind.
You just got the best birthday present ever-a good look at the guy you call your boyfriend. You don't have to waste time on such a jealous controlling guy anymore. If he repents and you forgive him, he will DARN well make it up to you.
Happy Birthday. I know right now you are bummed but at least he didn't bring you take out shrimp chinese for dinner when he knows you are deathly allergic (my last birthday gift from ex) and don't really like Chinese food.
Enjoy yourself. What do you like to do? You are all dressed up. Grab a good book and go out yourself. Have a great dinner. Have a nice sweet treat afterwards. Watch the sun set. Look at the stars. Do something fun.

Some people don't like when all the attention is supposed to be on someone else. They'll always do something to get attention instead. Go out with your girls, or on your own. Maybe pick someone up who doesn't feel they own you?

Amen to that! Losingit, he sounds like a class-A turd to pull such a stunt on your b-day, since anyone who's halfway together and able to empathize with others knows a birthday's not about THEIR ego gratification, but the birfday boy's/girl's ego, and he'd know NOT to pull that kind of childish and selfish stunt. He sounds like a high-control dude who wants to exert power over you (sound familiar?) so consider it a lesson learned, but start acting NOW to make sure he doesn't get a chance to pull the same stunt on Thanksgiving, the seasonal Holidays, New Years, Val's day, etc.
