A few more for you Terry.

-- The Golden Age 1929 November 12 p. 107 - If the organs [of your body] are diseased, heal them by correcting your diet. Avoid the use of aluminum cooking utensils and alum baking powders as they are injurious to your health, poisoning your blood stream... Sleep on the right side or flat on your back, with the head toward the north so as to get benefit of the earth's magnetic currents. Avoid serum inoculations as they pollute the blood stream with their filthy pus.... Stop chewing gum, as you need the saliva for your food.

-- Golden Age 1931/1934 December 19 p.187 - Appendicitis: Take one ounce each of elder blossom, peppermint and yarrow and simmer in three pints of water. Take a wineglassful every fifteen minutes. Do not be afraid of the perspiration caused, or if you vomit.

-- The Golden Age 1936 September 23 p.828 - Do not use X-Rays... they are destructive and sure to harm the grandchildren of those exposed to them.

-- The Golden Age, Jan. 16, 1924, p. 250 - It has never been proven that a single disease is due to germs.

-- The Golden Age, Nov. 28, 1928, p. 133 - All human ailments have their start in the intestines.

    Then the disclaimer

-- Watchtower 1952 February 1 pp.95-6 Questions from Readers - For the sake of the record, let us say that we are not medical advisers. We are not professionally trained doctors, and do not advise on health matters except as they may involve Scriptural issues, such as in the case of blood transfusions.

I'm trying to remember the one where Rutherford (? ) suggested jumping up and down, naked too? hmm, my memory needs a reboot this morning.

I brought up all these ridiculous things when my jw was first joining up, his response? 'well, people believed a lot of strange and silly things back then'

My response? 'yes but claiming they spoke for God?!' obviously I got nowhere with him. Tried to compare it to what they teach today or even last week/next week for that matter but naturally his eyes glazed over and he ran for cover.

In their defense, it is still debated today whether or not aluminum causes cancer. Women are encouraged not to use aluminum cookware when breast feeding. I think the WTS accidentally had some truth to some of their aluminum claims even though they were somewhat out there. All the other quotes, though, show how messed up their minds really were.

"Germs don't cause disease, vibrations do!" lol That's some crazy vibrations.

    Carla, Here's your quote.

*** The Golden Age, Feb. 10, 1926, p.310 ***Air baths are good for preventing colds... What you do is strip naked mornings and evenings and then bob up and down for a while.

    Isn't religion a hoax ?

Is that is so, then all the men who profess they are spiritually connected to the gods is also a practical hoax ( WTS./JWS )

"If any overzealous doctor condemns your tonsils go and commit suicide with a case-knife. Its cheaper and less painful." (Golden Age, April 7, 1926, p. 438)

    Terry,
Where did you source your quote at? I've been trying to find a PDF of of the 1926 Golden Age's, but it has been somewhat elusive. You don't happen to have a copy do you? Thanks.
