Did Adam and Eve Partake of Literal Fruit or is it Symbolic?

  We are not responsible for the sins of our fathers, sons or daughters, etc. etc. We are each individually responsible for our own actions. Disobediance came even when GOD's kings were on the earth. If you read the account of Adam and Eve, it describes the sinful nature throughout the entire history upon the earth.

  He will not die for his father’s sin; he will surely live. 18 But his father will die for his own sin, because he practiced extortion, robbed his brother and did what was wrong among his people.

  LOL! How flattering to Eve (and all women) to think that the creation of human females was a mere after-thought. File that under the misogyny which reflects the cultural norms of the time/place in which the story was written, where women were considered as property of the male patriarch.

  There's no need to guess why Eve saw the fruit as desirable to eat: the Bible tells the reader the three reasons (that is, only IF you DON'T rely on the NWT, which offers only TWO of the three reasons, as explained in my blog article):

  Why would GOD curse a creation because of something that satan did? So of course, the serpent is satan, and the curse is against satan. Crawl on his belly means that satan is brought down to the lowest form of subjection. Some faiths believe that the serpent had feet before. It does not refer to a literal serpent or snake, but to satan. And then it refers to Christ crushing the serpents head.......to be continued.

  The purpose of the account of Adam and Eve is to show how things came to be. GOD creating female was not an afterthought, it is just showing the thought process of GOD........learn to use your thinking ability and power of reason when reading the bible.

  You mean again, like I said before, that what the bible says is obviously NOT true. So instead of accepting it as a writing from thousands of years ago that was full of magic just like ALL the other writings of its time, we should invent deep metaphorical meanings? We couldn't just accept that it is like every other book written in its time?

  By the way. Do you read all the other ancient books and look for their deep hidden meaning too? Or do you label them as fiction and ignore THEM?

Puny man that thinks he knows more than GOD who created men. The day is coming when all will know that GOD exists, then what will you say?   Satan is the father of the lie so I am saying that satan is a liar. Of course GOD knew that some would know good. We are given the choice of good and evil. There are many accounts of those that chose GOD over satan. I choose to live my life in a good way, it helps to avoid heartache and pain. I stay free from drugs, too much alcohol, smoking, etc. etc. I build a good name by being kind to another person and they learn to trust me. The account of Adam and Eve means so much more than what people take it as. He that seeks shall find so pray for understanding and wisdom....

  Stauros, I wasn't trying to just argue for the sake of arguing. I asked serious questions and thought you would take the time to answer.

  Was I mistaken, I thought you said you felt the Genesis account was not literal. Then that since it wasn't literal we had to figure out what it meant. I am asking you why you feel the bible can and should be interpreted as full of hidden meaning, and is not possible that all the other ancient books are worth your attention as well? Why do you feel the bible alone should be interpreted different than it is written?

  Sorry I did not get back sooner. An alarming and morbid scene took place where I live. An elderly man in his 80's took his own life by covering his face with plastic along with plastic around his lap. He then wrapped the plastic from his face around a helium tank, inhaled it until he died. The coroner and the officers just took his body out of the building. It was an eventful night for all that live in this building. The man is resting now, with the hope of resurrection soon. It is sad that people feel this way and are not content with life. It happens daily I am sure. May Christ rescue us when he arrives in The Kingdom of The Almighty GOD....Amen
