Does Jesus still have another 1000 years to reign, or is there only going to be a 900 year paradise under Jesus?
Good question paul , Annual text is "let your kingdom come" study articles in January are about how great it is that the Kingdom has been reigning for 100 years.
IF jesus next 900 year reign is anything like his first 100 year reign then all I can say is GOD help humanity

The brainwashing is very strong. You can see people thinking- "there's something that just doesnt make sense here"- but then they are snapped back by the incessent droning- "You have the truth, this is the best way of life, the GB or F&DS are God's instrument, must believe, might be changes, dont be weak....." etc, etc, etc
But there are moments when you can see clarity on their faces. If only they would have the courage to ask the questions that lurk in the back of their minds.
That is the only path to freedom.

I used to think that you could bring the Borg to a crash and everybody would go their merry way and start a decent Life. Nowadays I think that no matter what the GB does, will do or ever did will change anything. They will carry on with a hard core group of witnesses that pass the religion over to the next generation (with modifications) but still.
There are some pretty terrible groupings and organizations STILL in existence (although not the size and former glory) - even though it should be clear to the present members that it is a terrible waste of time & resources to be a member in a organization that is clearly a historical loser.
Examples:
Nazis - still around, thinking that Adolf will come back one day and all kinds of crazy beliefs. Hey, your FUHRER LOST BIG TIME. That is something that goes beyond reasonable understanding. In Portugal you still have active and working Knight Templars organizations that meet and do the whole she-bang to keep "it" alive - they even use ancient clothing etc. Very interesting to see - makes no sense, but HEY. Big bearded man like to dress up once in a while.

I think ones who are having difficulty accepting the latest understanding of the truth regarding, this generation, would do well to consider what was discussed at yesterday's WT Study. Particulary paragraphs 12-14. We don't serve Jehovah with a stopwatch and to toss our dice so to speak over, this generation, would be to shoot ourselves in the foot.
12. As we await the realization of what God has promised, does our life course show that we are remaining spiritually awake? For example, do we truly believe that Babylon the Great will soon be destroyed? Are future blessings, such as everlasting life on a paradise earth, as real to us now as when we first learned of them? Have we maintained our zeal for the ministry rather than letting personal affairs take precedence in our life? What about the resurrection hope, the sanctification of Jehovah’s name, and the vindication of his sovereignty? Arethose still vital issues for us?Meditating on such questions may help us to do as the psalmist said, keep God’s “reminders as a possession to time indefinite.” —Ps. 119:111.
13. Some things mentioned in the Bible may not be fully understood nowbecause it is not yet Jehovah’s due time for making them clear. Jesus again and again told his apostles that it would be necessary for him to suffer and be put to death. (Read Matthew 12:40; 16: 21.) But the apostles did not understand what he meant. They got the sense after his death and resurrection when he materialized a human body, appeared to a number of disciples, and “opened up their minds fully to grasp the meaning of the Scriptures.” (Luke 24:44-46; Acts 1:3) Likewise, until holy spirit was poured out on themat Pentecost 33 C.E., Christ’s followers did not comprehend that God’s Kingdom was to be established in heaven.—Acts 1:6-8.
14. In a similar way, at the beginning of the 20th century, there were a number of wrong expectations among true Christians regarding “the last days.” (2 Tim. 3:1) For instance, in the year 1914, some thought that their being taken to heavenwas imminent. When their hopes were not immediately realized, an earnest reexamination of the Scriptures brought into focus that a great preaching campaign lay ahead. (Mark 13:10) Hence, in 1922, J. F. Rutherford, who then took the lead in the preaching work, told those assembled at the international convention at Cedar Point, Ohio, U.S.A.: “Behold, the King reigns! You are his publicity agents. Therefore advertise, advertise, advertise, the King and his kingdom.” From that time onward, proclaiming “the good news of the kingdom” has been a hallmark of Jehovah’s modern-day servants.—Matt. 4: 23; 24:14.

I don't hardly know how to reply SFPW. Would you not agree that the generation teaching is suspect and hard to understand? Let's start there.

SFPW at the start of the 20th century JW's didn't have the truth as they do not have it today...This is why they have false expectations. Dangling the end is near carrot is what keeps JWs slaving for the cult.

I have heard a lot of people making fun of 1914-2014 in several family circles, with friends who knew of it and even stand up comedians who know of this message. Here is the thing, the Jehovah's Witnesses have become a joke in history and have been nothing more of a punch line in, "Name people who believed everything without question, even when the real truth stomped them in to the dirt ... Jehovah's Witnesses." Honestly, that is a joke I think we forget on this board, way too often. We take them serious, we act like the world even knows they exist anymore. I hardly even know anyone who gives a crap about them anymore, and when I mention I used to be one they just ask questions of "How did you buy that crap?" To which I explain being raised in it and not doing it past age 27. I just think, when we try to prove this to that and so on... we have to really remember, the world truly sees them as a sad joke.
