I hate to say it, but I don't know that the theory of the time between Adam's creation and Eve's creation has ever been formally revoked. In which case the question of when Cain was born becomes important. Why? Because, if the WTS wants to revise their chronology only slightly, they can say that little time needs to have passed between Eve's creation and the first sin, or between the first sin and Cain's birth. Thus if Adam was 130 when Cain was born (I do not recall what the WTS chronology says), then Eve may have been created only about a year before, sinned along with Adam, been banished, then become pregnant. In the extreme she might have been pregnant before the banishment. Thus a new deadline of 2205 (if Adam was 130, 1975 + 130) could be established. It would not spur on activity now, but it would continue to justify the existence of the WTS.

Once again, the Watchtower sadi in 1968 that the end of this system of things was only a few more months away.
To say the end hasn't come yet, but 'only' 300 months have passed and so that isn't a false prophecy BY THE WRITERS OF WATCHTOWER strains credulity to the point of fiction....

The overzealous brothers doctrine/defense/gambit:
"Some anticipated that the work would end in 1925, but the Lord did not state so. The difficulty was that the friends inflated their imaginations beyond reason; and that when their imaginations burst asunder, they were inclined to throw away everything." (Watchtower 1926 p. 232.)the proper perspective reply:
Of course, having looked at the original quotes, we now understand that the "Some" who "anticipated the work would end in 1925," was really the Society who had lead the brothers to that conclusion. Contrast the statement "but the Lord did not state so," with what they said earlier in 1922:The original real quote from the WT:
"This chronology is not of man, but of God. Being of divine origin and divinely corroborated, present-truth chronology stands in a class by itself, absolutely and unqualifiedly correct...." (Watchtower, July 15, 1922 p. 217).So, here is a 1922 WTS quote that clearly says 1925 is it. Then here is a 1926 quote that clearly blames some brothers for it.
They just got a lot slicker in 1975, is all that is the difference.
Does this mean WTS can get away with this every 50 years?? 2025 is only 23 years off. They might be starting up again in as little as 10 years!!!!

When jw alive in 1975 get too old to complaint they will come up with another date.
Problem is INTERNET, the complete wt history is at your finger tips now.
Only totally ignorant people will joint, maybe they can find a few, naked, at the Amazon jungle.

The WT is especially fond of asking Questions. Questions every dubby knows the answer to. However the WT can, later, claim that the readers drew the conclusion themselves. -

The WT is partial to certain sequences of numbers.
3 and a half, 7, and 40 being popular a while back in history.
More recently they do seem to tend towards the 50 year cycle. 1875,1925,1975 demonstrating this.
I reckon it must be tied in with their old reasonings on "Jubilee cycles" though they probably arent even consciously aware of that themselves.
Just my opinion.
