I too, am struggling with this same thing, heaven or earth? I know that alot of folks say, well what does it matter, when you did you either go or you dont. But I want to have hope , hope of being with my family forever, enjoying life everlasting, and being with Jesus , in some manner . I want to be able to give my children hope. I want to beleive , and have faith that there really is a God . I am very confused by the whole Bible right now, I have been out of borg for about a year. I know it will take years to start from scratch in my learning , plus trying to wipe out WT teachings out. I too, find it so very hard to beleive that I will go to heaven. I just love earth and the things in it. But I dont know what heaven is really like so i might like it better. But I have to agree more on the side of what Justin said. From my new study of the bible , so far, I think what he (Justin said) makes the most sense to me. Either way , I am trying to concentrate on Jesus own words and accepting Him as my savior , regardless as to what my hope is , heavenly or earthly....
if I think too much about it , I think my head will blow off!!!!
So I am trying to make baby steps here!!!!! Maybe in another 30 some odd years I will learn something new.Maybe I will still be as confused.
A heavenly hope

Go with Justin, Dawn.
Although don't short change you're self while here on Earth. The Bible gives us snap shots of Heaven. Do some study for yourself.
Here are some starters:
Believer and Heaven- Believers have a present and future heavenly status. We are citizens of heaven( Phil. 3:20-21 ) with a heavenly calling (Heb. 3:1 ) their names are written in heaven ( Luke. 10:20 They groan to be clothed with a resurrection body ( 2Cor. 5:1 ) The resoration of the image of G*d in human beings will be complete (1Cor. 15:45-49 ) The eternal inheritance of future blessings promised by G*d is secure (1Peter.1:4 ) we are joint heirs with Christ who has already been glorified ( Rom.8:17 )
The fulfillment of G*d's purpose-worship (rev 7:10; 11:16-18; 15:2-4 19:1-2 ) Reign with Christ in heavenly glory (2Tim.2:12; Matt.19:28; Rev.20:4,6 ) fellowship with G*d and each other ( Heb.12:22-23 ).
My favourite bible verse is
" To be absent from the body is to be present with the LORD. "So the way I precieve what G*d is saying in the bible, which, by the way we are to look at as a whole picture not just by pulling out scripture to back what we want to believe. You have to filter every-thing through what the bible saids in the whole picture (O.T & N.T ) together.
Our bodies go back to the earth but our soul lives on. Believers of Jesus Christ then go to be with G*d in Heaven until the time comes when the saints (us) come back with Jesus at the end of time. Then everyone recieves thier new bodies, living & dead -Just as Jesus did at His resurrection. Jesus was the first and has gone before us.This is a real body as Jesus demonstrated at His resurrection. Then comes the day of judgement. G*d distroys this world and all the saints go to live on the new heaven and earth. To the full glory of G*d.
This is a very simplictic way of explaining it, but gives some good starting points to look up such as New Heaven& New Earth, The Resurrection, The Day of Judgement and our Heavenly bodies ect...
To do this you need to go to a good christian bookshop, or Bible Society and buy some good study guides. Try not to depend to much on commentries as these tend to be the veiw point of the person writting them. And make sure that the books have a wide denominational view point or good cross section.
Some ideas of a good librabry for study would be a bible dictionary, a word study guide, a good study bible (most recommend an NIV) for this, a dictionary of theology,
-Evangelical Dictionary of Biblical Theology, BakerBooks
-The complete Word Study New Testament, Zodhiates KJV
(this also has in it strong's dictionary, lexical Aids, greek concordance Translational reference index).
-The Laymans's Parallel New Testament, Zondervan
and a word study guide to the O.T.
Check your ideas with other people and listen to other peoples view points always making sure it works in with what the Bilble saids.
Hope this might help & G*d Bless...
Though the most important point is our relationship with G*D through Jesus Christ, other points we may not always agree on and that alright. We're to debate and study the scripture.
Some good reading:'Pilgram's Progress' by John Bunyan
'Bible Facts About HEAVEN Sweet Home of the Lord Jesus and Departed Saints' by Dr. John R.Ricehttp://www.dcn.davis.ca.us/~gvcc/theology_notes/theology_notes.html

I enjoy your comments, but I do have a question....why do you always spell GOD ... G*D? (Just curious)
