Unstop: the story in genesis is historically inaccurate according to history. If you want to claim something is historically accurate its entirely circular to first define history to be what agrees with you, buddy.

As I say before, I respect you (not your believes), but you. With all due respect, you are dodging the question.
Why do you believe?
You believe in christianity because we were raised in a christian culture. A muslim or a mormon or an orthodox jew (non of the deserve capital letters) believes for the same reason. Religions are spread about on the globe into separate geographical locations much like diets are different around the globe.
I can tie hercules throughout Greece. Elis was a real place. The Euxine Sea is the Black Sea. Nemea is also a real place, and the ruins of most of this places still there today.
Does this make hercules a real historical figure?
Spiritual personal experiences do not count. I am not trying to be a jackass, but I can tell people, in fact I can even convince myself that I was adducted by aliens (no anal probe please) and that doesn't make it so. I will need some kind of evidence.

Of course I don't believe that Eve was literally made from Adams rip 6000 years ago.
If you do just a little research on cave paintings of "chauvet cave" and "cosquer cave", as well as "lake dwellings in central europe" (age about 6000 years old dated by "non radiometric means) you will find out that there must have been humans more than 6000 years ago.
I guess you don't take everything of the bible or of the genesis account literally. Or do you believe the creative days were 24 hour days or the beasts of revelation are literal?
I just wanted to show you that the bible does not describe HOW god created everything. To state that he made every animal species instantly like a constructor produces a good is leaving some questions. For example: why were nearly all species extinct except those today? Moreover if you believe in a "global" flood and not a "local" flood you believe that all millions of species today evolved from those that were in the arc or survived by other means. That would have been an evolution over just 4000 years.

mad: i respect you as well, in all truth i dont know what would be my faith if i was born muslim, maybe if thats all i knew, i realize that possabilty. i would hope i would have the abilty to test my beliefs of that system to know it is wrong

danail: as far as revaltions beast i thing its symbloic or figurative. as far as the creation days im not dogmatic, but it seems the bible is teaching young earth, however theres not enough info for me to make a 1oo % certain belief. i have read alot from answersingenisis web site.

mad: i have and i still test everything, if i didnt i would not have left the jw world and became a christain, i read the greatest show on earth, i listen to mr dawkins give talks/sermons if thats what they can be called. and i did not see anything to convice me that evoultion is true. granted some of the biology stuff i did not understand(i never took biology in school.) see athiest here ask outside of what the bible says how do you know god is real, and the answer is he has made me a differenet person. however on the internet how can you tests that? you cant. so i can only tell you what i know and believe , and what the bible says about god.
