FHN - Presenting objective evidence that people can check out for themselves in their own time is in no way equivilent to religious proselytising.
Just last week somebody asked how they could go about deciding if atheism had merit. My advice was to do their utmost to prove that theism was true. Read the very best christian apologists, study its claims and consider whatever evidence you can discover.
That hardly sounds like somebody who pounces on potential converts does it?
Can you imagine a theist advising somebody to study science, to read Harris, Hitchens, Dawkins, Dennett, Ehrman and Shermer? Encouraging them to face up to the very best possible argumements against theism.
There is no comparison.
