I observed how they were always "helping others" by applying God's word and helping people to make adjustments, but who helps the local elders to see things more clearly? His answer? Circuit Overseers, of course! Forget what the bible says, it's what the next guy up the corporate ladder says that matters.

So they wait 6 months before any correction can be given? Or is the CO having to visit other congregations during his primary congregation visit to counsel some elder?
Elders counsel elders in their own congregation........without a doubt. Other congregations? Then the CO gets involved.
Can elders only be df'd or reproved by the CO?

Really, I think it boils down to an attitude problem in the case of this particular Brother. I have approached a CO regarding a bit in one of his talks, an illustration, that could have a very hard edge for some in a general audience. He was defensive but willing to listen. The next time he came, 6 months later, he told me that he had thought about it and modified his talk. And I was just a common publisher at the time.
Our COBOE is very organization conscious. I wonder how the brothers who are serving as elders now can survive spiritually in this environment.

Stillin, whoever the elder is you are dissatisfied with.... Think about his secular job, think about his life, his qualifications, his role in society, then reconsider your opinion.
is it really suprising that these guys, window cleaners, builders, salesmen, shop workers, office men ..... Are not up to leading people in desicions of self, family, sex, marriage, health, happiness or even spirituality....
How many elders are made elders for their loyalty to Wt rules i.e. Hours in ministry over a good knowledge of the bible? Dont you think its odd that loyalty to the organisation is respected more than loyalty to the bible?
It all makes sense when you leave, they are just men.... Not paticularly smart or gifted, just humble men. Walk away or accept who they are.

Our body was told by the CO that we should be a "self healing" body, whereby we should not hesitate to counsel each other. Great in principle, except all elders are equal, but some are more equal than others. - cantleave on nuggets iPad.
