The degree of separation of the twins in utero depends on if and when they split into two zygotes. Dizygotic twins were always two zygotes. Monozygotic twins split into two zygotes at some time very early in the pregnancy. The timing of this separation determines the chorionicity and amniocity (the number of sacs) of the pregnancy. Dichorionic twins either never divided (i.e.: were dizygotic) or they divided within the first 4 days. Monoamnionic twins divide after the first week.

katewild, all fundamentalists are potentially dangerous, this applies to christian and muslim creationists as well as holocaust deniers (who often happen to converge). christians of the type of cult USR fell for (just like JWs) tell even worse things than holocaust deniers. they think god wiped out all life on earth save for a handful of humans and 2 to 7 samples of each animal kind. a holocaust denier only believes that that horrible part of human history never happened. a fundamental christian believes that that fictual horrible incident DID happen AND IT WAS A GOOD THING!
anyway, i have met a few holocaust deniers and national socialists, and while i in no way agree with any of what they say, they happened to be nice people otherwise. they didn't participate in any of those cruel acts, they just deliberately chose to not follow the facts, much like creationists do.
it's a long call between comparing two types of ignorants and comparing industrial torture and mass murder to the freedom of choice to remove unwanted or potentially life threatening cells from your own body.

caliber, nice understandable information there. Very interesting. The point that unstop is making that abortion in later stages is inhumane, and he thinks it should be abolished.
I think in the UK it's legal up to 24 weeks, unstop you make a valid point. I didn't realise it was that far along. If there was a chance I would die if I did not abort, I cannot say what I would do. It's a very hard choice, very hard.
Mine was well within the first trimester. We can feel our babies moving at around 16 weeks. That is a shocking point I have learned.

Unstop I happen to agree with you about late term abortions, but the leap to making ALL abortions fall under the the same category whether 1 day old or 24 weeks is extremist.

Agree WMF. I happen to think late term abortions are like murder. But, to say that from conception and being two or four cells is the same as late term is just illogical and ignorant.

witness: i would have to say most abortions do not happen within the first 4 weeks, most females who are pregnant may not know until they miss there period,than after it that it may take another 4 weeks. even at eight weeks look at what a fetus looks like. if a person believes it is life on day one to me it will not make a differance between day 1 and day 27o. thanks for your comment

Sounds like zygotes are being compared to cancer
Such zygotes contain DNA derived from both parents, and this provides all the genetic information necessary to form a new individual

You could quite possibly be delluded by your Holocaust denier aquaintances. But you have met them, and I have not. I am sure they have negative motives for denying the Holocaust. I am afraid they are not nice at all, they are trying to fool people into thinking they are nice and normal. In fact they are an insidious cult of their own IMO and far more dangerous than a churchgoer who believes in creation.
But hey that's just my opinion, you are welcome to yours
