Oh Simon, don't be ashamed of Sound of Music.I can't even count how many times I've watched that film. Here are a few of my favorite things (er, movies): Back to the Future Big Pretty in Pink Some Kind of Wonderful Meet the Parents Amelie Rat Race Forrest Gump Wizard of Oz Uncle Buck Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory just about any Jim Carey movie (I'm sorry, but the guy cracks me up...this does not include the movie The Majestic...blech!) I'm sure I've forgotten many, but these are the ones that come to the top of my head.
Star Wars
Seven Samurai
Kagemusha
Cyrano de Bergerac (Gerard D.) 1991
Kundun
Ameile
Goodfellas
Casino
Godfather 1, 2
Lawrence of Arabia
Groundhog Day
'Saving Grace' - About mid age woman who grows pot in Scotland! 'The Princess Bride' - Sentimental favorite, 'Anne of Green Gables & Anne of Avonlea' - Must go to Prince Edward Island before I die! 'Monsoon Wedding' - Indian movie with subtitles about an arranged wedding, 'Amele' - cute french movie about a do gooder afraid to love, 'Notting Hill' - Even though the real Notting Hill has so many cool ethnic groups and this, movie has none, I'm a sucker for the love story, 'Some Kind of Wonderful' - I agree with you Bitter Sweet, I always cry at the end, pathetic, I know. 'A Room with a View' - Most men want to slit their wrist after seeing this but I love it, I know most of the words, love the costumes, just love it, 'Emma' - with Gwenyth Paltrow soooo romantic 'Mulan' & 'The Lion King' - Ha Koona Matatta everyone!
Mommie Dearest
I am sorry if I offend anyone but this story is so ridiculously dramatic all the lines set me in to hysterical laughter!
"I said no Wire Hangers!"
"Christina, Christopher, Damn It!"
And my favorite line from that movie is when Joan Crawford says to her daughter:
"I should have known you'd know where to find the boys and the booze"
I love watching "The Sound of Music." It's definitely my favorite movie. I recently went to see "See Along Sound of Music" - which was wonderful booing the Nazis and hissing at the Baroness.
I love watching "Shawshank Redemption" - I love seeing Tim Robbin's character get the best of Warden Norton - and Warden Norton getting it in the end. What a great movie.
I'm going along with the python flicks as ones I have watched over and over . also like raiders of the lost ark , star wars , jaws, 10 commandments with charlton heston , raging bull with robert deniero , The godfather, dum and dummer , pulp fiction , forest gump, well the list goes actually.
hmmm there are too many i watch over and over again....but the ones i have seen most often over the last years is "star wars VI" (funny that everyone seems to like it) and "fools rush in".
