    WELCOME!

I'm in the same position as you OFFGRID5150 - you're not alone!!

Just take things easy and be very careful and gentle how you break the REAL truth to those you love. That's the hardest thing I've found - biting my tongue!!

It's far, far, better (and safer) asking a question about something, rather than making a statement!

Enjoy & endure the information you get here which the vast majority of brothers haven't a clue about!

For your loved ones' sakes, search out the Scriptural reasons on here why so many have left, then when used, loved ones can have their eyes opened a lot easier, if more painful!

Your only 30. That’s great that you woke up so early in life. I was 27 when I began to awaken nearly 3 years ago. We are lucky. Some here (JWN) woke up much later in life. Take your time, especially with your wife. There is a lot of time left in your life. Good luck. I look forward to hearing more about your life. You’re in good company here.

Thanks everyone for the kind words. Really appreciate it. Very encouraging to see I have many counterparts here on the path to mental freedom. I really hope I can slowly wake up family and do the fade(sounds like a dance move, lol). The good thing is atleast I have my sibling to talk to about this. He stopped going in his teens! Turns out he had the same suspicions as me! We have agreed to keep the conversations/exchanges discreet but atleast I have someone to talk to about it off the web :)

Welcome offgrid5150, Thirty is pretty young. What are your plans now? Are you going to attend a university? Do you have/want kids?

I hope that you post on JWN frequently so that you can vent your emotions as well as ask advice to help your wife to critically think for herself. At least you have heard of Steve Hassan, so I hope that you have read his books or watched his videos to help you.

Best of wishes helping your JW family and friends to critically think for themselves.

Peace be with you and everyone, who you love,

    Robert

Welcome, glad you are here. There have been several posters who managed to bring their family out with them, hopefully they will post their advice. As everyone has said, you must be patient. Many have woken up to the truth and immediately tried to get their spouse to leave, but that just doesn't work, cult mind control kicks in and they just dig their heels in. You cannot force anyone out. From my observations, those who have a strong marriage to begin with are usually more successful. Sometimes a good strategy is to ask questions and listen to the answers, that will give you an idea what tactic to use.

    Welcome offgrid5150!

(Guessing by your name are you a little bit crazy and living in the boonies?)

That's great you're able to confide in your brother. I awakened to TTATT about 7 years ago and had to patiently wait another 2.5 years for my wife to finally smell the JW coffee. Thanks to my DFed older brother and this place, I was able to vent, fume and scheme without alarming my wife.

I'll be sending you a PM shortly.

    Best regards,

    om

Thanks everyone. Steve Hassan's Book Combating Cult Mind Control has been excellent. JW isn't referenced once in that book, (aside from the reference in the back). The whole time i read it I was telling myself, this must be written for JWs! But, it's just textbook mind control. Also, just from a Scriptural stand point, I've discovered so many discrepancies and changes in the NWT, and most modern bibles. I've learned to love my King James Version. I really appreciate all the support. It's nice to know one is not alone.

Welcome! Wish you were my younger brother, who's about your age...I would love to see him start to break free like you are.
