Well done Sam. You will get there. Swimming on a Sunday is a great idea.

cofty,
We have booked a squash court at the gym tomorrow at 915am. We can take our swing ball bats and a tennis ball to try it out before we buy all the squash kit. The club staff are so accomodating and customer focused!
Last night, I went on the treadmill for half an hour, a toning class, a spinning class, swimming for 20 mins, jaquzzi and sauna. Just what I needed to cope with stress. I feel wonderful, I am going again today. 3 days a week and sticking to it.

Hi Kate, I'm dealing with some of the same things with my 4 and 7 year old. A couple of books i've found helpful they are on amazon.
1. Parenting from the inside out. How a deeper understanding of self can help you raise children who thrive. by Daniel Seigel.
2. Things I want my daughters to know. By Alexander Stoddard.
Kids emulate what they see their parents doing. One thing a therapist told me recently. Kids are pretty forgiving if they know that their parents truly love being parents.
Best,

My son was never in to team sports and is not terribly coordinated. What he did love to do, though, was climb trees. I got him involved in a climbing club which was good for him, and he rides his bike a lot to this day.
The one sport he excels at, though, is chess.

jgnat-You took the words out of my mouth. My son has no use for organized sports either, but he got involved in climbing, and he LOVES it. He is nothing but lean muscle now, can do 24 pullups, climbs like Spider-Man over some very difficult courses, and it still leaves him time for excelling in schoolwork. And instead of the danger of brain damage from contact sports, he gets to trade it off for the thrill of death by 40 foot fall! (But he is very, very careful...).
