Where is the evidence of direction by God's Holy Spirit?

Why are men appointed who are hiding sins and later discovered to be adulterers, pedophiles, apostates, etc?Why didn't the Holy Spirit know this before the appointment was made by the Elders and approved by Bethel?

When CJ chose the Bible Students in 1919 as the one channel of communication to dispense the Truth (TM) to all mankind, why did he or the HS then move the Judge to publish "Millions Now Living Will Never Die" in 1920 only to have that proved as a LIE?

If the Great Tribulation and Armageddon are imminent, why is the WTS embarking on a building project that will not be completed until 2017?

If according to the GB/F&DS "higher education" is a bad thing, who do they seek out as physicians, surgeons, lawyers, and engineers? Pioneers?

If the Holy Spirit is directing them to warn of the approach of Armageddon to bring "all sorts" of men to salvation, why did he tell them to state that Armageddon would come in 1914, 1925, 1975, and before 2000 and have all of these prove to be false? When in the past did God ever test his people using false information (lies)?

    Never question or debate doctrine.

They claim divine direction. If there is no evidence of it, why should we follow them without question?

It is easy to determine when a question has stumped a JW because a JW will not be able to respond for minutes, so don't say another word until a JW says something.

This is a great point to remember. I have a hard time keeping my mouth shut. Let them think. It is fun to watch.

if they change the subject, ask again. Be patient. Don't ask too many questions. if you raise flags, you lose their attention and possibly your only chance.

My question today: why do JW's write their names at the top of time cards, when Jesus specifically told us to practice righteousness in secret? Matthew 6:1-6

"If Jehovah wanted you to know that the WTS is not his chosen organization, what would he have to do to convince you?"

When I look at the micro-community of Jehovah’s Witnesses there are things that work and things that do not. There are ups and downs, good points and bad - and I saw that in VIVD color at Bethel.

The world as a whole in proportional comparison as a macro-community (of sorts) has the same exact problems... no better, no worse. The world as a whole... FUNCTIONS. And if functions rather well, whether it's travel across country or turning on the TV at night for a little downtime while checking Facebook Mobile in our air conditioned homes... life is pretty damn consistent.

All this advancement and convenience... from “Satan's world.” So Why do Witnesses get to enjoy everything from air travel to smart phones but condemn and doubt the very area of science that gave them these gifts?

Why do they get to bite the hand that feeds them by claiming moral superiority... and still get to enjoy modern medicine and readily available food at grocery stores?

They are so miserably hateful to the world... with absolutely no appreciation for the “heathen” people who gave it to them. There is no thankfulness or appreciation. THAT is what gets me - THAT arrogance.

Same goes for the armed forces (at least in the United States) with not recognizing Veteran's Day, Memorial Day, helping veterans, etc.

The best questions are ones that require an intelligent answer.

Ask them if the holy spirit is in them or is that just for the Anointed? They will say its 'just for the anointed', then follow up with "thats to bad I thought you guys were christians and believed Jesus is your messiah" They will say 'yeah he is and we are christians' and then you respond "Not according to Romans 8:9"

Isaw this on Twitter and it made me smile:

"If god has a plan, why do you go to see a doctor when you get ill? Isn't that sort of f*cking with his plan?"

From another thread, Doug Mason posted this excellent question :

"If there were no members of the "Slave Class" throughout history, who then were the spirit-led people who decided which books would be used as their sacred Scripture (NT)?

    Doug"

This is good to ask because you can appear genuinely puzzled, and just seeking to understand.
