How bad is the nepotism really with the appointments of elders?

  In my KH there has been only 1 person in ten years to get appointed that was NOT related to an Elder in the KH. Even then, he was an Elder's son. His dad was just in a different congo, although the KH was being shared. So it Elders's son's and Elder' Son's-in-law only that have been appointed at our KH. Even one who moved in was joining our KH because he was married to an Elder's daughter.

  To this day there have been zero appointments for MS or Elder. There is one son-in-law left and a son. We just had the C.O visit, so we will see what happens. I am sure that it's all in my head. I am just perceiving nepotism. The reality must be that my heart is treacherous and I am jealous of others. Also, perhaps JEHOVAH'S spirit has left the KH because I come to this web-site. SFPW and I should turn ourselves in to stop the plague!

  A candidate for made man needs to have a good sponsor.

  I think inside JWs or outside JWs, in any organisation that has ever existed, there has and always will be nepotism. It is part of the human condition for many people. We always want to look after our own. It can be seen in corporations, sports, churches, politics, business, the local fruit shop, schools, armies- anywhere humans gather and organise.

  There is such a thing as "spiritual" nepotism, sponsoring men you have studied with. I knew a man who studied with 2 elders, was baptized, and became an elder in 5 years.

  I have seen the CoBE's son get privileges and appointed a servant, recommended for Bethel, when he doesn't want any of it. Poor lad is so not interested in the BOrg.

  How do you cope?

  First you need to get mentally out of the org. Learn the truth about the truth, do some research. Second you need an exit plan, how will you leave so you keep your close bonds and family ties. You cannot stop the corruption and nepotism in the Borg, but you can cope with it.
