Its true, its wasnt a pretty sight.

The best though was when I managed to beat him and his brother, even though I found out after that they had been cheating all along.

Example of the extremes Simon will go to go cheat at monopoly:

Simon had rolled the dice and realized that he was going to land on a square with four houses on, so as he reached over moving his piece, with his other hand he managed to pick up one of the houses without anyone noticing, he then decided to put it in his mouth to hide it, so he moved his hand up like he was yawning and sucked it into his mouth, unfortunately he sucked too hard and swallowed it. His choking gave him away

    Oh, SOOO TMFI....

Ah, no one had wars like the Fultons did (dad's side) playing Trivial Pursuit.

Good Irish-German Catholics the lot of them. (And PC support guys, Mac guys, and mainframe guys, along with their supervisorary-position wives, which didn't help) Could never, NEVER, EVER admit they were wrong. They'd challenge every card - then, they'd look up the answer in ANOTHER encyclopaedia trying to prove they were right. Half the family would end up agreeing with them ('Yeah, I remember that, too')...the half on their team, of course.

Now, the fact that just proving team B wrong would be good for team A isn't enough. No, they don't just have to prove team B wrong, they have to prove how THEY remembered the fact was correct (which also typically was different from the card's answer).

That family still mostly lives nearby in NE Ohio, so they did family reunions every month. Wife refused to let me play after going once, and refused to go after the second time - she just couldn't believe how furiously they argued.

    Star Fleet Battles!!!

But I haven't played that in a *long* time... (And it takes so *LONG* to play... even with a few ships!!)

Settlers of Catan, Magic: The Gathering (I got addicted to this one when it first came out! Then one day my parents found some of my cards.. They threw them out on me... At least there weren't any rare cards!)

Merchants of Venus, some of the fantasy games from Avalon Hill.

Speaking of ICE... I used to *love* their RPG Rolemaster..

SEQUENCE (aka SEQUENCIA) is a great game.
As easy to pick up as tic-tac-toe.
Can play 1-on-1 or with many people and teams.

I love Trivial Pursuit, Pictionary (haven't played it in years though), Taboo and SCRABBLE!!

I dislike Monopoly. Clue? You've got to be kidding. I played that game with my cousins, when I was about 7 or 8. It's a kid's game, isn't it?

I also like Hugger Mugger (great word game).

I like Pinochle and Cribbage too. I used to love Canasta, but can't find anyone to play with, since Sharon died. We both loved it.
