Perhaps Jesus should have said beware of false prophets who may try and sell my Gospel of a new world and earthly paradise. $$$
You cant be a true faithful follower of Jesus unless you adhere closely to his words of preaching his kingdom, not men running their own publishing house who twist and manipulate the Gospel for their own means and purpose.
Being a JWS is simply being a faithful devoted follower of those men, who descriptively are identified by scripture as being false prophets.

What is funny it that after the Swaggart episode the production of publications slowed down and now is practically gone. At the same time, going door to door is not as important as it was before.
Looks like in effect we were selling.

Let it be honestly understood and accepted is that the WTS doctrines (1874, 1914) were devised and presented to draw attention to the literature the WTS published, while cultivating a sense of power and control for the top leaders.
Were they serving faithfully to god or to themselves and their business venture ?
They were in fact novice bible theologians who just happen to be executive editors of their own publishing house.
Freewheeling card playing opportunists if you will.
To say that god would choose corrupt lying charlatans as his chosen earthly organization is like saying god is malignantly corrupt and devious.

In third world counties the reduced literature cost was the only way to get regular pioneers, very few people could afford the out of pocket expenses of the full time service.
For the special pioneers this was gravy, they had their monthly allowance, their end of year bonus and depending on the location plenty of help from the locals. The majority of them were pretty well set up; most of them wanted to stay as special pioneers and not go into the circuit work.

I could see that happening Hecce.
Now days its about standing by a literature cart with the WTS literature and advertising JWorg.
In some ways the WTS is looking more commercial than ever, not to mention JWS going door to door with Ipads in hand.
Same false doctrines, same brainwashed mentally controlled people serving the needs of the Watchtower publishing house.
