A bit rash but very necessary.I never really liked them anyway.
I just binned all my meeting clothes.

Did you donate them and get a deduction?

I never had clothing just for meetings. I just work my normal work clothes. I still have most of them and wear them regularly. I actually prefer skirts to dress pants. My kids don't own a single piece of dress up clothing anymore though. I ditched most of their suits ppretty quickly, and they've outgrown the rest. Just Ron still has a couple of suits, but they only get worn to funerals and the rare fancy dinner.

I didn't have to wear smart clothes in my job, as I work in publishing.very hip!!!I hate wearing skirts.another sexist rule of the Borg.I was always paranoid about showing ANY cleavage whatsoever.I've got smart clothes but more my taste, not theirs.

Was it cathartic ? I found ditching all my neck-ties, bar a couple for formal business meetings etc, quite liberating. I hated wearing the bloody things.
I used to have to wear one for a weekly Board meeting at a Company I worked for, and the M.D used to turn up in a Tee shirt and Jeans, he thought he was Richard Branson, but he was a skinny runt of about 75 years !
I digress, I found it really liberating too to burn my Bound Volumes of the WT and the Asleep magrags, I didn't want them getting any more readers, so on the bonfire they went, had to help the buggers along with some petrol though,
they must be demonized ! LOL

What a great feeling Quelly! I seem to live in trousers at work, well all of us do. Can't believe all those skirts and dresses I had to wear. When I get my legs out in the summer everyone stares, they think I move around on castors!

I have always hated skirts, hosiery, dressy shoes/heels. When we decided we were never attending another JW meeting, every skirt, suit, tie and dress shoe went to the Goodwill.
If any future event requires a skirt or a necktie, we won't be going!
