Should I reconnect with my Bible students? What do you think?

As a "Bible student" myself, I can tell you I would be thrilled to hear from anyone at the KH, on a social level. I contacted one of my good "friends" over the summer, but was sadly disappointed to see her with my eyes open. I think it's a fabulous idea. You've already made connections with them, and it woiuld be interesting to hear what they have heard about you.

How many Bible students become baptized? From what I've heard and observed, not many. I asked my mom about this (the fruits of their service). She admitted that since she had started going to the KH 5 years ago, no one new had been recruited from the door to door ministry.

Go for it! I'm sure they will be pleasantly surprised to see your real persona.

I had 4 separate teachers, but they were all born-in JW's. I would love to have any one of them as a friend today. All I have now, is the fun of seeing them in public and discussing their reactions to me with my children. They sure must be blind... I have to practically knock them over, to get them to notice me.

Good for you, Kate! I hope it goes well today.

Kate, we went back to some of ours and not one had the intentions of ever becoming jw. We informed them as to what happened to us and why we got kicked out and this angered them to no end. We apologised for we didn't know any better and they were so glad we were out. Some have become very dear to us.

You have nothing to lose and when you tell them the truth about the truth, you've saved one more live from this cult. We had quite afew studies on the go and felt we had an obligation to fill. Looking back, the brother that studied with us kept saying it will get more clearer after your baptised and it didn't. He came last summer to try and get us back in and yet would say he didn't believe half of it either, What a mind screw-up. I don't wish that on my worse enemy.

You do what your consciense is telling you. You won't regret it.

    Best wishes only, LL

People here caution you, but I think you know how to draw lines of caution about dangerous people. You already know these people and if any are willing to meet with a DF'ed person, there's hope for them being/getting out of the JW's. Good luck with your friend today.

Go for it KateWild!! But, don't tell them about TTATT. Ask them simple questions to find out how they feel and how they feel about the WTBTS. Then, ask them simple questions about TTATT and how you learned about TTATT after visiting _______ website.

Peace be with you and everyone, who you love,

    Robert

I am back guys thanks for the support. I was greeted with a warm hug and cup of tea, we just chit chatted a while and caught up. Since so much time has passed we had a lot to catch up on.

Low and behold she already knew WT was a cult, she did the research when I was studying with her and talked to people. She said she kept having me back because she thought I had a good heart. When I told her I went to my last meeting 5 weeks ago, she was overjoyed and cheered a little.

It was so nice reconnecting, I feel I have friends now, I don't feel so isolated anymore. Tomorrow, instead of going to the meeting I will visit another student, and so on and so forth.

I already had a circle of friends, I just didn't know it. I am so content and relaxed right now. I feel like I have come through a lot in a short time and another hurdel is over. I am calm and pleased.

Excellent, a happy outing with a new path to be taken. I wonder how many 'students' are put off by TTATT? I remember calling on a guy who showed great interest, until he told his wife and she warned him to never have any contact with JWs again.

    Dear Kate,

I am happily unsurprised at your news! I think you are a likable and engaging person-and I think that some of the people that I studied with (perhaps unknowingly) were such good teachers because they were simply good people to be around. LIkable. I remember one pioneer that never could get anyone to go with her and o one really talked to her. I was an unaccompanied minor (yeah, that never really happens, right?) and so if there were no on my age, I got stuck in her car group (just two of us, no one else wanted to go with her either!). I don't know how she kept at it. she was just unpleasant. I fondly remember my old bible teachers, Collette, Lana, Lynne and Denise. All young, happy women who were just fun for me (10 years younger) to be around. They were young marrieds, happy with babies and while they did a good job with trying to teach me, they mostly were friends to me. That is the key to getting people into cults. I don't think they did this in a contrived way, I was born in-but when I started learning the TTATT, I stayed in longer cause I didn't want to hurt any of my friends, esp. not my study conductor (Denise). She is no longer in and I don't think her (now) ex husband is either. So, It's all good.

Denise or Rick? Wonder what happened to the others? I know one of their husbands left (and is gay) but not sure about the rest.
