Is there any chart that shows the annual number of partakers over the past 50 years? The recent successive years of increases in numbers of partakers makes for interesting speculation both within the organization and outside it.

I hear the echo of one of my four JW grandparents who all came into the organization between the years 1926 and 1935; my maternal grandmother was the only one of those 4 who claimed to be of the anointed. She asserted in the late 60s that those then coming forward as partakers for the first time were proud self-serving and not to be trusted. She died 1972. I'm sure she'd have a few stern opinions on the relentless increases in partakers these past several years.

So the number of partakers has never, ever fallen below 8000 , and ever since 2005 has actually been increasing to 13204 in 1913.

I've got a couple suggested modifications to add to what sd-7 listed for this:

In the years since then, the number of these partakers has progressively decreased, principally because faithful Witnesses of Jehovah finished their earthly life course in death.

    How about one of these:

In the years since then, the number of these partakers has progressively decreased, then progressively increased, principally because the faithful anointed have finished their earthly course and the Christian congregation has recently experienced a significant influx of mentally unstable individuals.

As the Last Days wind down to their finish, we can expect that the number of partakers will progressively decrease. Since Jehovah has chosen to pour out his Holy Spirit to anoint an ever increasing Little Flock to numbers not seen since the 1960s, it is reasonable to conclude that the end is now further away than what some Jehovah's Witnesses had led themselves to believe. Are we not indeed happified to now realize our privilege to preach the Good News of the Governing Body could easily extend for another 50 or 60 years? Think of the dozens of lives that might be saved during the final overlapping decades of this never again to be repeated work!

    Snare & Racket said:

i was a JW in the 80's & 90's all the countowns to Armageddon have now been taken out of the religion...

The Anglo American World Power being the last ( doctrine now removed)

The Russian, King of The North activity (doctrine now removed)

The age of the 1914 generation (doctrine now removed)

The number of anointed decreasing (doctrine now removed)

The UN destroying religion and all religious people giving up their religions (awaiting doctrinal change as looks more unrealistic than ever before)

Your summation is correct with two comments. Firstly the Anglo-American world power is still the last power. They modified a little bit about the makeup of the feet but did say that there would be no new world power to take over on the world's scene. This is from the w12 6/15 pp 14-18

19 We are living in the days of the seventh head. No more heads will appear on this beast before it is annihilated. The Anglo-American World Power will be the dominant world power when false religion is eradicated. The prophecies of Daniel and John have been fulfilled to the smallest detail. We can be confident that the destruction of false religion and the battle of Armageddon will soon come. God has revealed these details in advance. Will we pay attention to the prophetic warnings? (2 Pet. 1:19) Now is the time to take sides with Jehovah and to support his Kingdom.—Rev. 14:6, 7.

I also am not sure that they are likely to move away from there position on the UN destroying false religion anytime soon. It is a key to maintaining a sense of urgency. Of course I have no special insight on this but my gut feel is the next set of changes in the organisation shall be around the meetings, procedure and lots of hype of big building projects - keeping people thinking that the org is on the move and distracted from the continued passage of time.

Did anyone also note the homage to 1914 in the back of the YB?

Yes, it's interesting how they use the word 'SOME' with regard to their expectations.

A couple of days ago the Day's Text was on a similar theme, some expected to go to heaven at that time.

    Rewriting WT history.

You have to go back to 1962 to top this 2013 figure!

    1962 - 13,284 partakers

    2013 - 13,204 partakers

    That's a massive net fall of . . . 80 partakers in 51 years.

Interestingly, the partaker count had been falling consistently with two notable exceptions; 1939 and 1949.

With the outbreak of WW2 in 1939 the count shot up to 31,426, an increase of 86% over 1938's total of 16,908. But even that dramatic spike was dwarfed ten years later by a 140% rise from 10,553 in 1948 to a massive 25,395 in 1949.

It's that 1949 figure that we had seen steadily reducing until this new and steady climb of recent years. I'm at a loss to explain the huge increase of 1949, does anyone have any ideas?

I've just scanned through the pdf version of the 2014 Yearbook.

Has the GB ever explained WHY they are moving out of Brooklyn?

Also all those pictures of happy smiley people made me wish with all my heart that the WBTS truly made JW's lives happy.
