Do you also feel like you need a red convertible &

    In a way ...just kidding!

    * Do something that will 'up' your self esteem.

    Accomplish something that scares you.

Push your limits to the uncomfortable zone.

Make your wife very proud of you.

Just a ramble from an older person lol.

    Good luck.

Maybe use your ample income to save for university for your kids? Then you definitely wont be putting them in the same position as you were. Also, maybe get really involved in something in your community?

This stuff is all about perception. You know... "the grass is always greener..."

I'm typing this as i sit in a cubicle in a big corporation. I have a professional career, so what? i wish i was somewhere nice outdoors, smelling fresh air with the sun warming me up, instead of this sterile place.

The stuff about college i do understand, but you know it's never late. You need to put it in a different perspective. College doesn't need to be about changing careers, it can be simply about accomplishments. Enroll in some classes. Even if it takes 10 years to graduate - who cares? You already have a decent job. It's about working towards a goal. When you graduate you will feel that you made it, despite it all, despite the cult keeping you down, despite your parents keeping you down. You still did it. That's is what it's all about.

Take Cialis and play Tiger Woods for the Wii in you underwear, while drinking scotch. It's the cure for boredom.

Seriously, I don't know what to say here. I am thinking of changing jobs myself. The fact is, I am aging. I cannot work at my current pace forever. Unless the END comes, I am screwed. So I have to change jobs. All I know is construction. So I am trying to get into a field where I can someday be less physical. At the same time, I need to work-out at a gym. That is something you might consider. The repetetive motions of construction jobs do not count as exercise. I had one job that did, but the hours were so long that it eventually became counter-productive. Imagine going to the gym 60 hours a week and never letting your body recover.

I feel your pain about education. It's a forest of mirrors when it comes to higher education. A guy like me could get taken for a lot of cash really quick. It's very confusing and daunting to consider going back to school. Still, if your wife supports you, that is a plus. If you have someone in your corner then you can succeed. Good luck, bro.

How about playing audio books while working? Stimulate the mind with new ideas.

After you read those books I'd like to hear back if they helped. I suspect they will help you have a new perspective on your situation, and help you find ways you can set yourself up for a new life.
