Do You Consider Yourself An "Apostate"?

The word "apostate" used to be a terrible, frightening thing for me, conjuring images of dark, disturbed people lurking in bushes outside Kingdom Halls, ready to spiritually shipwreck my faith... How they would do this I didn't quite know, but somehow they would seek to carry me off as their prey and fill me with lies and twisted reasonings.... It was a brutal terrifying thing. To think that someone could leave Jehovah and turn upon their brothers and sisters!! How evil they must be!!

Well, fast forward to today, lol. The word Apostate is a badge of honor to me now, knowing that I have consciously REJECTED the WTS's bullshit. It puts me in company with Jesus Christ, the Dali Lama, Bhudda, and other now-highly-esteemed people who rejected the common bull-pucky and taught about love and forgiveness and peace.

I occasionally doodle the word "apostate" on paper and decorate it with flowers and curly-cues, lol. It is a beautiful word to me now. lol :)

Given the fact that I have no intention of trying to convince anyone that they do not have the truth, I don't fit the category of an apostate. Doesn't it have to do with"drawing away others?"

It was quite a struggle to get to where I am, I am not sure I want the burden of showing someone they are wrong without being willing to stick it out to the end. I got my own stinkin problems and really don't have time to have the burden of the struggle of others.

Even asking the question gives psychic energy to the abusers and prevents you from moving in a positive direction.

    Q: Are you an apostate?

A: What a stupid fucking question. Are you hungry? I'm thinking chinese, or maybe Italian. Yeah, definitely Italian! Hey, did you see the '49ers in Green Bay? That was some game. Am I right? What an ending! Exciting to the last. Woohoo!!!

Note: If you don't want to offend an overly sensitive relative, you can always leave out the "F" word. But they'll still probably be offended. Why? Because JWs have this insane belief that your business is their business and that you have to do whatever they expect you to do. That's their problem. Not yours.

DO NOT ALLOW OTHERS TO PROJECT THEIR PSYCHOSIS ON YOU.

Everyone is an apostate at least once in his life... Stop trying to fit into a lable and be yourself (who will change every once in a while) :)
