I imagine that Scott Hahn makes a descent living, but he's not paid by the Church. His income comes from Book Revenues, and Speaker Fees.
I can say this is how it is for ALL Orthodox Priests, but the friend of mine who IS an Ortho Priest, that is his reality. All married Ortho Priests have to find Parishes to pay them.

I don't think so Yeru. Scott works at Stubeinville University. He is an employee like a priest is an employee. So is his wife.
As for Tim Staples, I'm sure he earns most of his living off of his books and speaking engagements.
I just don't think it would be fair for priests to have to support families on the pidley salary they now make. Anyone considering becoming a priest and especially anyone considering marrying a priest should really give it a lot of thought.

I agree, someone considering marrying a priest needs to think LONG and HARD. Priests would first of all have to be paid more, a living wage. I forgot about Scott's Stuebenville, Salary, I'm sure it's not ENORMOUS, but I'm sure it's more than 1200 a month.
