An End To Df'ing..Would It Satisfy You?

  Without DFing everyone who was a witness would be a witness because they wanted to be. They would live as they thought best and could use Watchtower information (and other information) to form their spirituality.

  DFing is the underpinning to a universal false unity. Unity through coercion is not unity.

  Jehovah's witnesses are no more unified than any other organization, but DFing allows them to say, oh yes, we are all the same, otherwise you would no longer be viewed as a witness.

  So, people hide their thoughts on doctrine and their feeling on moral issues.

  While it's a major short-coming of the JW religion, it's not the only short-coming. They'd have to change some of their theological views as well. As the Bible says "that which has been made crooked cannot be made straight". IMO, the religion is beyond redemption.

  To some, DF is the result of them making a conscientious decision to cease association with the Borg. For them, the removal of DFing would have little effect, except to allow free association with the R&F.

  For others, DFing came first, and for these the reform of the shunning practices may make a difference and cause them to be tempted to re-associate.

  Some of you may recall a few years back when they allowed the r&f to speak to those who were DFed. It didn't take them long to realize this was a huge mistake. I knew several people who started talking to "apostates" and as a result left the org (and wound up DFed too). If only this one aspect of DFing changed they would lose not only control over their member but lose the members as well.

  DFing is not only a club to use to stop people from doing forbidden things. It is a tool for information control. Egads - can you imagine if all JWs had free and open access to the internet AND the freedom to talk about it with others? The Borg would cease to exist. They would lose their monopoly on information - one of the core aspects of mind control. Without the control of information people would have freedom of thought - another core aspect of mind control. And if they had access to all the information we have they would be angry, sad, etc. - freedom of feeling - and before long they would be leaving freedom of behavior - all gone gone gone.

  Hmmm maybe getting rid of just this one aspect of DFing would be enough - ya think?
