LAMBSBOTTOM - If we didn't have to provide transport for an interested person (Bible study of a car-less sister) we would have gone after the talk as well!

During the WT study, my wife pointed to this corrupt mis-application of of a Bible verse;

"Thus, obeying Christian overseers shows our respect for Jehovah and Jesus, the two greatest Shepherds. (Luke 10:16) Surely this should be the foremost reason why we desire to be submissive to the elders."

She pointed to the opening verses of the chapter to show that Jesus was speaking in the context of the ministry, to his 70 disciples - he wasn't by any stretch of the imagination referring to elders!!! But let's not get hung up on what Jesus was really talking about - if we can twist it to fit in with our dogma about "glorious ones"!!

Billy, I had to turn the video off, I was cringing SO much. Soooo true though!!

The last meeting I attended was in September 2013. The speaker was sooooo boring, stunted and uncomprehensible. I ended up daydreaming about my next holiday and dinner that night. The WTard was beyond me on that Sunday also. I could'nt wait to leave and get changed out of my stupid clothes and have a decent conversation with someone.

End of my JW life.

lambsbottom - I hope you find happiness in whatever you do. That you are here shows that you are on your way out of the watchtower(R). I hope you will be able to see your way all the way out of it.

By still going to the 'meetings(TM)' you are exposing your mind to the watchtower(R)'s powerful mind control.

Searcher- its great your wife picked up on that tidbit-

Makes me wonder sometime how many people on average in the congregation is slowly losing trust of WT bible interpentation by their own silent critical thinking! if that makes any sense!!! LOL

I went to the meeting too!

There was a badly drawn "Ark" on a white board beside the speaker as he told us to be more obendient, not to aim for wisdom, and to be more generous.
I had trouble understanding what the Ark drawing had to do with it all. All I could surmise, was that the Ark was some sort of sublimation to our senses by word pictures instead of actual words. He only referenced his rotten drawing once, and that was to remind us of the obedience of Noah at the time of the end, at that time, and how Noah never questioned God's request. That was it................!!!!!!

The elders wife who took me along, was clearly embarrassed at the inadequacy of this chaps talk, and it's message of "obedience", she was embarrassed enough to raise the topic first. Not me. She was able to escape the WT bit as she just had to come up to my place and explain that she found some of the historical stuff mentioned, was indeed, not accurate, and was open to speculation.

Loved the video. I mirrored so much of the awful atmosphere of these glassy eyed people who give the talks; and that of those who have to listen to these intelligence attacking assualts..............suffer. And it is because of their sincerity that they put up with it, even when these poor people "know" they are being fed a pile of B())(*it. But they really do love God and.........

Because they have no-where else to go...................

In other words don't seek wisdom by getting education, stay ignorant and submissive to the leadership of the Watchtower Corporation.
