LDH, Dungbeetle, I think you are being too critical.

People are entitled to change their minds and emotions. As far as I can tell, you were not harmed by Violets changes.

    Be kind.

    Else,

Perhaps you are right. However, I have intentionally withheld my personal opinion about VA's tactics because I do like to give people the benefit of the doubt.

The pattern does not compute. Read VAs 1st post.

and now you tell me what's up with saying she's going back.

And if her spells are alcohol induced, there's help for that, too.

Go do a search on posts she's started (all the way back to the beginning) and you tell me why she's here.

Surely you jest. With $951 MILLION in assets, they haven't really "needed" donations for a long time, but they still expect to receive them.

PS That must be good hootch you're drinking/smoking if you think they'll quit taking money from people who are more than willing to part with it.

There's the answer in VioletAnai first post:

The elders didn't understand why I had a drinking problem.

Hi, I am new here...I am still young, is this a safe place for me to hang out at?

What a waste of time this is. Wasting my time is NOT 'harmless' to me.

i think that that is a very astute observation Violet. we can expect an anouncement in the Kingdom Ministry soon saying:

please don't bring ny more gold for the temple, your generosity has been wonderful and we now have more than enough, so keep your valuble things.

verily i saith unto thee, upon that day shall the mountain flee

I don't know if Violet is legit or not, but I will respond to the question. The WT is a business based on growth. At this time, they are not growing in 25 major countries, and in some of them, the are declining. They are only growing in poor contries. Therefore, they need more money, not less to operate.

If their printing volumes go down, they still have the same fixed costs to cover, and their per unit costs go up. I think that is why they are outsourcing some of their printing and outsourcing the purchase of food items that they once grew themselves. I don't think the financial picture is a very good one for them.

Can I ask everyone to *please* help me by not making personal attacks / insults however tempting it may be. It really does make it difficult to deal with other people who may abuse the board if they can point to cases where I 'let things go' - I have to do my best to treat everyone equally - I hope you understand.

    Many thanks

I'm sure the last thing those dumb, greedy, controlling bastards would ever do is cut back on donations.

    (Mode=sarcastic)

I certainly hope the donations are not headed down, as this could be a bad trend with very serious consequences. If donations go down, then there will inevitably be cutbacks in all the services the Watchtower provides to local communities.

Just think of all of the things the Watchtower does for us.

The JW hospitals, soup kitchens, drug rehabilitation centers would suffer horribly. Not to mention the outreach program for the poor, the orphans and the widows.

No we must make sure this doesn’t happen. Do whatever is within your means to help this wonderful organization; after all you can’t expect evil Christendom to do it all can you?
