Why doesn't Jehovah just destroy Satan and the demons then leave humanity alone?

I had a similar thought: why would god allow such a powerful enemy free access to pitiful humans. Think about it. Human mothers were lucky to see their babies live past the age of 2 or 3. Famines and a severe lack of food were common, as having enough food to ensure you or yours made it through the winter or the drought was unlikely. In addition to being killed by each other, the weather, elements and unseen pathogens and viruses would ensure that the average life expectancy was at best 34 years for tens of thousands of years.

Kinda seems a bit unfair that the big guy would let loose such a roaring lion seeking to devour someone. Humans would be easy prey. Unfair, unlevel playing field. Thanks god.

Until I realized they were both make believe people. Then it all made sense.

There is of course the 'existance' of the thought processes of the human mind, so technically it could be said that these concepts (god, satan, demons.) Do'exist' in people's minds .Where of course all sorts of non...sense can be dreamed up !! iTS ALL IN THE MIND AND NOWHERE ELSE!! In my humble opinion of course.

Great question. One that helps me in breaking free from mental slavery to religion. Think of it this way.

The witnesses say the issue of universal sovereignty is being settled right now. But... it really isn't is it? Because all we are settling is Satan is evil right now. Once god kills him the question still remains - can people do things on their own. So logically the whole universal sovereignty issue falls apart. People have never had a chance to just live! They had angels coming to earth to bop their women and floods and evil demons everywhere.

None of it makes any sense.

"The God of the Old Testament is arguably the most unpleasant character in all fiction: jealous and proud of it, a petty, unjust, unforgiving control-freak; a vindictive, bloodthirsty ethnic cleanser; a misogynistic, homophobic, racist, infanticidal, genocidal, filicidal, pestilential, megalomaniacal, sadomasochistic, capriciously malevolent bully." - Richard Dawkins

    .

That pretty much sums it up.....

Comatose - I think the 'issue of universal sovereignty(TM)' is a made up watchtower(R) load of baloney if I remember correctly.

None of it makes any sense.

    I totally agree.

if you think about it, even the alleged test at the end of The Thousand years doesn't settle the issue. WT and the Bible say MANY will follow Satan when he's let loose. Isn't that the issue at hand? Satan said that he could always find people that would not want to serve god. Essentially, as long as Satan exists, there will always be some that follow him, some that follow god.

    .

the only way god can "resolve" the issue is to kill Satan so he has no more influence on humans.

    .

if that's the only solution that works, why didn't god do that at the very beginning and save billions upon billions of humans untold suffering?

    .

and, what about the children born after Satan is killed? They've NEVER been tested at all !! never had a choice, so the issue of "universal sovreignty" remains open.....ones who survived the final test would always be asking, "I wonder if those children would serve Satan if tested? I guess we'll never know."

    .

the entire WT and Bible concept is absurd and answers nothing...

    Psalm 37: And just a little while longer, and the wicked one will be no more;
And you will certainly give attention to his place, and he will not be. But the meek ones themselves will possess the earth,
And they will indeed find their exquisite delight in the abundance of peace.

How many times did the GB tell us to show the householder that it is only going to be a 'little while' until Big J blasts wickedness off the face of the Earth?

The householder would logically ask '& when was that written?'

You'd have to admit 'over 3000 years ago'

'Well that isn't such a little while is it'

'Yes but a thousand years is as one day in God's eyes so to him it IS a little while blah blah blah.................

    I knew it was crapola.

The very fact that we question it all proves it's a load of crap. If it made sense and was obvious there'd be no questions.

What happens after this supposed test? According to WTBTS gurus, after the 1,000 year test, any who rebel again will be intantaneously destroyed with anti-matter... So for eternity, God will be ever vigilant and instantly destroy anyone who could be the next Satan. If he can read every thought, WHY did he not do that in the first place and destroy Satan the moment he strayed, but BEFORE he corrupted other angels and humanity?? The problem would have been solved. Man would have still retained his free will, but would have been able to proceed without Satan's influence. Then humanity could have been guided without the influence of evil.

So if God has the power to forsee who will rebel and to destroy them before their apostate teachings can ruin the paradise to come.....WHY didn't he do that very thing when the angel who became Satan had his first evil thought and threatened the original paradise?? Why the need for the experiment?

D, D you mention the perfect angel who became satan (supposedly) as having his first evil thought how could this entities thought be construed as evil until after the consequences of his thoughts or actions became apparent? Would this perfect created by god being, know what evil was , is evil not a human description of what we determine to be detestable. Otherwise evil would have to originate from the creator. Following on from that suggests evil existed before any human creation. Is therè something gods not telling us, perhaps we didn't stand a chance from the outset?. Jùst a thought!
