Are J.W.'s as Gullible as the Org's Writings Imply?

I was a born in indoctrinated by parents who were kool aid sipping Jws. I have to admit I was gullible as gullible gets. I drank the kool aid. I wholeheartedly believed all the bs in the revelation book as if it was from jehoover himself.

That was a result of my ultra orthodox jw upbringing. I knew of nothing else and was afraid of apostates.

So when you talk disparagingly of people who are gullible go easy on them. It may be their parents fault. Also realize there is a chance that they will change. I did.

I understand that the word "gullible"has been removed from the dictionary due to a new political correctness policy.

Quote- JOHNAMOS - You logically quote from the RNWT - using the Org's questionable translation of Hebrew & Greek words. This inevitably skews the meanings and context of scriptures, in order to present an erroneous or misleading teaching.

    Consider Habakkuk 2:3 which you quoted;

the word chakah which the Org renders as "keep in expectation of", literally means to"wait for, long for". Definitely a change of tone, somewhat. – end quote

Habakkuk 2:3 King James Version (KJV)

For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.

Wait - : to stay in a place until an expected event happens, until someone arrives, until it is your turn to do something, etc.

: to remain in a state in which you expect or hope that something will happen soon

: to remain stationary in readiness or expectation

: a state or attitude of watchfulness and expectancy

Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.

Luke 21:36 Common English Bible (CEB)

Stay alert at all times, praying that you are strong enough to escape everything that is about to happen and to stand before the Human One.”

Luke 21:36 English Standard Version (ESV)

But stay awake at all times, praying that you may have strength to escape all these things that are going to take place, and to stand before the Son of Man.”

Quote - WHY KEEP IN EXPECTATION? Watchtower August 15 par. 4, page 15

"The Bible leaves no doubt about what our attitude should be toward the impending destruction of this system of things. Jesus told his followers to "keep on the watch" and to "keep awake." (Matt. 24:42; Luke 21:34-36) That in itself is a good reason to remain in expectation - Jesus told us to do so!" - end quote

When we were loyal to the Watchtower Corporation we let them do our thinking for us as we tediously followed instructions from 5 meetings a week, this lowered and narrowed our own consciouness as we dosed off into group think. It is hard to get out of it and the GB are taking full advantage of it thus the extreme gulibility is played on to the stretching point in their writings.

Also I think we can safely say that: garbage in garbage out seems to in the process of information sharing in the Watchtower publications in other words it is all delusional reasoning of mad men who think they are on a mission from god.

Matthew 24:44 - "On this account, you too prove yourselves ready, because the Son of man is coming at an hour that you do not think to be it."

Since Jesus said that Christians would not know, this means that anyone claiming to know, cannot be a Christian!

When my parents became Jehovah's Witnesses the belief was, and when I was a child, that the tribulation had started in 1914 and been cut short. At least I think that's what it was.

I don't think my father was the gullible sort. I also think that maybe their view of this scripture related to being in the presence already.

Gullibility is a perfectly human trait. When anyone desperately needs a set of teachings to be true, he or she can highly gullible to soothing words of reassurance. If you have spent your entire life in the organization and lost loved ones that you have been taught you will only see again if you remain loyal to the organization, you need the organization to be true.

Waking up from gullibility is a very, very difficult thing to do. It takes so much willpower and courage. It is in many ways easier to remain gullible.

Religious cults can cultivate and achieve a greater amount of following adherents upon exploiting human ignorance, naivety and gullibility, that's why you see the majority of times, young adults getting involved with religious cults like the JWS.

The mental assertion of fear and possible reward is used as an alluring vehicle to attract people to these organizations, from there they typically go through an indoctrination process that is designed to lock the individual in though mental manipulation and using only selective information created to support the organization from within itself.

Some are gullible some are not. The elders for example are not gullible enough to believe that brother so and so standing there in his raincoat with pockets full of candy and mirrors on his shoes is a pedophile no matter how many kids come forward. It's not until they can find two eye witnesses to the alleged molestation do they believe.

Some are gullible and just plain stupid.

The majority though are not gullible they're just where cult leaders want them to be - cut off from the outside world and any balancing attitudes and opinions.

That's why it is so important to have your daily/weekly dose of JW-think to the exclusion of everything else.

The GB knows full well that any exposure to outside influence can infiltrate the indictrinated mind and cause horrible things to occur such as - Thinking, questioning, reassoning!
