“AndDontCallMeShirley”: “We are a cult, posing as a religion, but operating as a business.”

“Antioch”: “We can thank the JWs for their experiment, for their pushing the Bible to it's "natural" conclusion. But look at what they created. It is shit.”

Excellent and astute observations! It is the basic truth about what everything about the WTS really boils down to. Thanks. That makes my day. The simple formula to arrive at what the WTS has produced is:

    ((cult + business) – Bible) X >100 yrs. = tons of shit.

And you don’t need to be an illuminati or anointed to do that calculation!

Thank God for the Watchtower BIBLE & Tract Society. If they didn't start producing Bibles, what would've happened??

Truthful answer = to cultivate power and money, through proliferating fear and ignorance in using

    published literature.

Professed doctrines created by the WTS. were always the entailing marketing strategy for this

    religious publishing house.

With that premise in mind it becomes rational to accept why these doctrines were steadfastly held onto for

    so many years.

    Thanks, Coco.

It is tough to look reality in the face. But once done, it is never so scarey again.

I know there were great souls who were caught or born-in the WTBTS and continued to be kind and caring individuals in spite of the lies the Organization propagated. But what is false is false and it is right to call it what it is.

Sometimes ignorance can come knocking at your door with a smile,

it can also be conniving, illusive as well coercive with an attached hidden agenda.

    CoCo, good info!!

The reality is, over the years, the urgency of the message has been less important than the one's proclaiming to have insight (channel) to the message.

Anyway, The WTS has always been in the publishing business. That's the truth.

WT is a dooms day cult organization with American centric view of the event as any other crazy religous groups that originated in USA in the past 200 yeas (think mormons, adventists, and others). They attempted to explain Scripture with the same reasoning as other Christian groups without ability to get satisfying answers. Catholic, Orthodox, and Protestant churches trying that for centuries. Yet, some obscure religious group like WT think that they will get the answers, something what much larger and powerful religous groups like Catholics were unable to do so.

WT since the time of Russell were preoccupied with earthly paradise under supervison of the Old Testament prophets and king. They believed in the restoration of Eden with disregarding the finite space and resources on this planet. Nonetheless, Russell believed that 144,000 will go to Jesus' kingom in heaven:

He ordained also that a certain specific number should be chosen from amongst men to be his joint-heirs in the Kingdom--participants with him of the New Creation. We have every reason to believe that the definite, fixed number of the elect is that several times stated in Revelation (7:4; 14:1); namely, 144,000 "redeemed from amongst men."

144,000 is a fixed number, not symbolic. The number of sheep:

If we multiply the number of square furlongs in the city by the 144 measures of a man the result is 144,000,000 by 144 or 20,736,000,000, the estimated number of the sheep class at the end of the Millennial Age.

Since its foundation WT was obsessed with numbers, numerology, and dates, and will attempt to model its theology upon it. On the end, it comes down to business, since 20,736,000,000 individuals (2.5x or present world's population) would require a lot of printing and publications.
