The WTS never issues financial reports to their members so there is no way to know how the donated funds are used...I have never heard of any third party audits...other charities provide such reports and are held accountable to the donators for the way they use their funds...I guess the WTS has it good when they can simply ask for more donations because they spend "millions" supporting voluntary agents...
Will you make SACRIFICES for the kingdom? WT

...but it's not a cult.
My Dad was an MS until the dementia stopped all this religious nonsense. I am his POA. Once I took over, the money ceased flowing from his wallet to this sham.
They will never get another red cent* silver nickel from him again. I suspect they may have some sort of reduction in funds occurring as the baby boomer gen retires and starts dying off. Recruiting people in poorer countries can't be good for the cash flow either.
(* Canada has abolished the penny)

Good point Heaven, hadn't thought about the baby boomers who are moving from their higher earning years into retirement. They might waste their time pioneering for the cult but they are sure gonna be cutting back the amount of $$$$ they give. I only hope they don't leave the majority of their estates to the cult.

If we don't contribute $$$, then how can the "truth" be taught?? What about this impressive method?
It reminds me of something.....

LG, I hope they don't leave anything to them but we all know some will. Wonder how much of an estate they'll have left. I am not sure I'll ever be able to afford to retire.
LOL @ DATA-DOG! ... Clowns, that's what they are.
Love this from apenotmonkey.

bruh2012:
You sound as if you are still in but are starting to question things. I feel sorry for any "true believers" left in this religion because they are going to be used up until there is nothing left.
The hard-luck stories nowadays in the JW religion and appeals for money must be endless. They must imagine they are going to get money from the remaining responsible people barely hanging onto their jobs. I think they'll just end up driving more of these people out the door.
Heaven:
I would have done the same thing you did with regard to your father. You are probably right about them being worried because the baby boomers are retiring or dying off. These very sincere older people are the LAST of their kind with regard to giving money to this sham. Whenever another old-time member dies, the religion grits its teeth.
Once these older affluent people with their disposable income are gone, the "good times" are over. The younger up-coming generation is not the same breed as these older people and they don't have the means to donate to the religion, even if they were inclined to.
As you said, they aren't going to get much from poorer countries.

I'm with ohnightdivine on this one. The answer is -> No! Already did my share. Thankfully, I didn't drop out of college to enter the ful-time ranks. But still suffering from taking the advice to just view my work as a means to an end (pay bills while waiting for the new system) instead of developing a career.

I went to meeting for 60+ years. 5 meetings a week-times-52 weeks-times 60 years- equals over 15,600 regular meetings. Add in countless hours of endless elders meetings, conventions, assemblies, hours making up talks, shepherding calls, field service, KH cleaning and maintenance, days spent building KH's. You get the picture.
We have all made huge sacrifices--for nada!--Time to live life IMHO!
Just saying!
