The only thing I don't like when I look at our wedding photos is the "yearly text" written acorss the front of the platform, in every shot taken at the Hall.

My wife & I were only in the truth about 18 months when we got married by a brother at a KH. Neither of our parents were witnesses , and my wifes parents paid for the wedding reception , like you half of the guests were "worldly" people and the other half jw`s . The cong . o/seer`s brother was 2nd in charge ( I forget the title now ) his wife played the piano while my wife walked down the aisle . Many years later I heard that he was jailed on child pornography charges and his wife comitted suicide by stepping in front of a train . Both the brothers were young married in their twentys . And would you beleive my sister just sent me an e-mail card wishing us both a Happy anniversary ( which we both forgot ) married 53 years today .

Mine wasn't in the Kingdom Hall, so that was a good start. I had some non-JW relatives of mine there, another good move. My best man is now an "apostate" also, so we have great conversations about our experiences. And I even managed to slip some non-JW music into the bridal march. All in all, making decisions that the WT would consider poor turned out not too shabby.

We will be married 32 years on Thursday. My family lived 1600 miles away from us and it was both of our second marriage. I was not a JW and my husband was DF at the time so we went out to a little country Justice of the Peace and I had a girlfriend stand for me and his cousin stood for him. His dad was there (an inactive JW) but his mom did not attend because he was DF which at the time I didn't understand.
A week later we had a nice party at the house and the girlfriend who stood for me, her mom made a wedding cake for us. Now what is funny is his mom came to the party! We did not go on a honeymoon for 5 years because we were young and starting a business but when we finally went on one we went to Steamboat Springs, Colorado which was such a romatice place.
I am am a real girly girl and I always wanted a big fancy wedding but never got it. Years ago my husband wanted to do another wedding so I could have the works but we decided against it because of the religion.
We didn't have a professional photographer but if I were you, I would choose only the pictures with just the two of you to put out so you just remember the love you felt for each other that day and still do to this day.

I've been to some really fun JW weddings with live bands and that. I also went to one where I was snubbed by everyone. Oh well, you win some, you lose some. I'm just glad mine was mega fun.
