Someone should also check if there were big complaints at the times of those older articles that they were "covering" their asses for.
    Beliz?
    Others?

All could coincide with actual internal events. No wonder they have the jargon so authentic.

How about this quote from the webpage?...

The bird's heavy, wedge-shaped bill can grow to a length of more than ten inches [30 cm]—a powerful asset in extracting pieces of meat from a carcass.
Sounds like a little double entendre to me.

To secure that silence, they use shame, secrecy, even outright terror. Children are thus robbed of their best weapon against abuse—the will to tell, to speak up and ask an adult for protection.

Hmmmm.... this sounds familiar.... WAIT! I've got it! This is what the JWs do to the victims who go forward to prosecute their abusers! WOW! Now we know!

THeir policy on reporting child abuse is what is going to get them. It is in print in several articles. 2 or 3 witnesses? Can you imagine if the U.S. Judicial system worked that way? How many people murder or rape in front of 2 or 3 witnesses?

In response to Bboy’s remark and the 1993 series of articles, the crux of the matter is that child molestation was/is occurring in the congregations. Despite the advice distilled from experts that children be allowed to express themselves about the traumatic abuse, which is “the normal reaction to such a terrible event”, the Society’s actual POLICY is that they and/or their parents MAY NOT SPEAK of the abuse inside their closest, dearest community – the congregation itself -- unless a judicial committee has heard from two or three witnesses.

From their own mouths: "Who is best served if the child keeps silent about the abuse? Is it not the abuser?"

    Why, YES!!! Yes, it is!

And THAT (along with the fact that this person is going to show up on the community's doorstep) is the crux of the matter. It is WHY WATCHTOWER POLICY IS WRONG, W-R-O-N-G, WRONG!!!

Church policy neither encourages nor discourages members to report suspected or admitted sexual abuse to police, Moreno said.

WHOMEVER, parent, elder, or other adult, is apprised of a possible case of molestation (or other physical abuse) in the congregation, should be ENCOURAGED, not merely 'allowed' or 'not discouraged', to go IMMEDIATELY to report the allegations to law enforcement officials. LET THE TRAINED PROFESSIONALS DO THEIR JOB.

Yes, J.R. BROWN, your job, the organization's job is to deal with sin

"We deal with sin, and law enforcement deals with crime," Brown said.
Funny, how that 'evil leader of Christendom', the Roman Catholic Pontiff, Pope John Paul II can decry pedophilia as "an appalling sin" and "a crime." Yes, the U.S. Archdioceses have finally woken up to the need to turn files on alleged child molestation and other sexual abuse over to the District Attorney all across the country and are doing so.

YOU have merely been asked to CHANGE YOUR INTERNAL POLICY SO THE CHILDREN ARE PROTECTED. And instead of making a cool appraisal of the meritorious suggestions put forth by conscience-stricken Witnesses like Bill Bowen, Barbara Anderson and others (which actually seem to harmonize with the series of articles above), you instead CIRCLE THE WAGONS and cry "Persecution!"

Jesus loved the little children. Why don't you?
