The hypocrisy of this organization and the people who lead it makes me sick. Kent posted a link at his site regarding disaster relief efforts the WTS was making; how like them to do what they have long accused other churches, especially the Catholics, of doing. All of their 'good' works do not and cannot make up for the deceptions they practice and the outright damage that is done to victims of child abuse BECAUSE OF THEIR HALF-ASSED POLICIES! Arrrrggh, reading that article from their website has really put me off my breakfast this morning!!

The comments in this thread betray minds too poisoned by hate to see progress. There is NOTHING the Watchtower can do to please those who are Watchtwoer haters. The Scribes and Pharisees condemned John because he didn't drink and Jesus because he did.

All the Watchtower did was publish an appropriate reprint of previous information about the subject. You are all blind to your own hypocrisy.

What progress in publishing a 9 year old article??

Remember what the Scribes and Pharisees did, right? They added to the law right? Sort of like the watchtower is doing these days isn't it?

What progress in disfellowshipping 4 people who commited the sin of talking about how the society handles child molestors? Is there progess this week in those judical committees that have been formed out of fear???

Tell me of this progress you mention.

When Jesus talked about wolves in the clothing of sheep, he meant the likes of the Watchtower policy makers, and Psychdigg. What isn't the Watchtower drinking? The waters of purity, and truth. Watchtower feeds itself full of the abuse of children, its hands covered with the blood of innocent ones who've lost their lives on blood, and countless whose lives have been ruined by following blind guides. From a post to observe the hypocrisy of Watchtower on their webpage, Watchtower spindoctor Psychdigg sees only hypocrisy in the posts here. You're as guilty as the masters you serve. The voice of the silentlambs violated by Watchtower agents, and peotected by Watchtower policy continues to cry; like Abel's voice.

Psyche, being blinded by hate and having the ability to see beyond a obvious political move are two completely different things. What the watchtower is now endeavorng to do is much too little, much too late!

Well, If Bill's goal is the protection of children, this article is certainly a step in the right direction.

I think prevention is worth a heckuva lot more than trying to cure a situation by punishment. Keep the molestation from happening in the first place.

They need to go further though and have an article about what to do after you are molested. This is also clearly important.

Hypocrites????!!!! Hypocrites????!!!!! No less than you lot, that's for sure. Even if they are hypocrites, you lot are no better. You fault them for lack of policy against child molestation and then when they post VERY GOOD public information on child molestation, you fault them!!

Would you rather they take the articles off the web page??? Oh wait, let me guess your answer..."No, I'd rather they not protect molesters in their policy!" OK, so you will get mad at the good things they do like publicly educate people on how to spot and prevent child molesting.

I'm sorry, but the information on that web page is much more important than emphasizing the reporting to authorities. Reporting to authorities usually happens after the fact. This information is good to help educate and prevent molesting from happening and spotting it when it does happen.

And of course it is damage control! What do you expect them to do? Pretend that it's not in the news. They know people will be going to their web site curious about this stuff. I think it is a great example of their past education attempts on molesting.

Go ahead and fault the WT on their policy of reporting, but don't be so transparent that your hate for them is evident in everything they do. It's so JW like. You might as well be a JW yelling about the Catholics.

As far as I'm concerned, I hope they release more articles like this. It might actually prevent some child molestation, which is what you all CLAIM to be interested in doing.

Edited to add recognition to Joelbear's balanced post. I'm in full agreement.

Guess what the problem is, not that they've posted the articles (old articles) but the fact that they posted them only after the Dateline story was filmed. Don't you get it my friend? Isn't it clear to you what's going on??? Four people are undergoing a disfellowshipping for participating in the dateline story. Doesn't that bother you a little bit??

As already stated, those articles are quite old, so it shows they have educated their members on this issue in the past. I'm glad they decided to post those articles, even if it is damage control. The more people who read that information, the better.

As for the people being DFed, it does bother me to some degree. For one, I have issues with the whole arrangement of DFing, but that is a completely seperate topic. Whether or not each of these people should be DFed according to the WTs guidelines, I cannot say as I don't know all the details in their cases. I can say in Mr. Bowen's case, even though he may have honourable intentions to protect the children in the org, if my memory of his past posts serve me correctly, he is also very much intent on the demise of the org. I can't really fault them for wanting to excommunicate a member who is trying to draw people away from their organization, that would seem to be the right of any "club."
