I've been waiting on Jehovah all f*king evening and He still hasn't served me. I demand to speak to the manager immediately.

I guess the real question is this, for anyone who still believes: why "wait on Jehovah" for an answer if the answer is provided in the Bible in the first place! Doesn't that mean that Jehovah already answered the question? It's more like "wait on WTBTS to catch up with Jehovah".

Yup. Makes ya think it's a cult doesn't it!

When he does come you'll be asking why he brought you Kool-aid!

Oh you have had those non-information cult speak letters too.

They never ever answer the questions but are sad to note the lack of faith in the life-giving spiritual food provided by the............. FDS.

Maybe finding your way out of the Borg was your answer?

Seriously, looking back my DFing was the best thing that ever happend to me. I'm not sure I would have ever woken up if that didn't happen.

I had an argument with my roommate over whether or not it was ever written in the literature that JWs shouldn't go to college.

I called bethel, it wasn't and I was wrong. This would have been in the late 80s early 90s, not sure if they have finally put it in writing.

    segway:

I remember they had an article that said it might be ok to go to college because it was getting harder and harder to make a living. Then at the next assemly they announced that it didn't apply in our area because there were so many high paying low skill jobs in the area. (The best I saw was $12 a hour with no chance of ever getting a raise)

This was the same assembly where they announced you shouldn't wear your baseball cap backwards.

That phrase has bothered me for awhile, even before learning TTATT. Used in regards to child molestation, spousal abuse, rape, it's just so absurd and impractical. It holds people back from getting needed therapy, marriage counseling, further education etc. It fosters a mindset that encourages thought stopping techniques. Grrr.

So glad my daughter and I are out and not "waiting on Jehovah", or anything else to pursue the rest if our lives :)
