Jon, you don't owe the org anything. Please tell your wife that she need not be confrontational if she doesn't want to be-and until you move, if someone asks, she could say-"I'm not coming back to this hall. It's personal and not up for discussion, thank you" However you decide to do this, she will have a few encounters before you move, probably. Tell her to be strong outwards and if she needs to lose it with someone, she can lose it with you or rant at us all that she needs to. We are on her side.

My advice is when the wife speaks, it pays to listen! This is a woman who wants a clean break. Let her. Meantime, go house shopping and discuss what hobbies, clubs you might want to try now that you have all this free time. Exiting Witnesses often underestimate how much they depend on their social network.
