About transsexuals and transgenders, an article was written about it by the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society, but was never published. However, several Jehovah’s Witnesses in position of authority are aware of it. For example, an individual who has changed sex and wishes to become a Jehovah’s Witness will necessarily have to return to the sexual identity he or she had at birth, although he or she will not be asked to undergo surgery again. Regarding the intersex people (hermaphrodites), the Watchtower said that there is usually a dominant sex and it does not require that they undergo surgery.

Reason No. 5 for leaving the Borg: I don't give an ef what consenting adults do. I no longer have to waste my time/brain/emotions/thoughts on such a ridiculous topic. Gay, straight, Bi, Transgender. I simply do not care.

Why would GOD allow people to be gay and then judge them for it? Also, I have heard this line of reasoning before. It's the WTBTS's new politically correct stance on homosexuals.

Quite remarkable indeed. You would never hear this from the Watchtower society a few decades ago. They are indeed saying that it's ok to be gay as long as you don't act on it. For all intents and purposes they are agreeing with the idea that being gay is not a choice or preference. They are softening their stance on it, to be more mainstream.

It's quite idiotic to draw a parallel with heterosexual sex the way they do. They equate homosexuality with fornication, but where does this leave gay people who are married?

Also, if it's ok to be gay as long as you don't act on it, what is Jehoober going to do with these people in paradise? Is Jehoober going to "cure" these, or is he going to make them be miserable forever by making them repress their natural feelings?

    How about gender dysfunction?

More seriously, surely the key difference between male and female (besides a few genes) is hormone production. Your grandmother's beard is surely the result of a hormone deficiency or surplus (not sure which).

And, a slightly lighter hearted thought (but not neccesarily light hearted for those who have to think through their feelings), if I wanted to grow breasts that made me look female, I'd take a hormone.

Which raises the question of the size of Adam's tits? Adam when created (assuming the veracity of that record) contained 'female elements' in other words he cannot have been 'male' as we think of 'male.' So if his body had a surfeit of female hormones he probably had larger breasts and nipples.

Final thought. At conception, arn't we all female?

The comparison with heterosexuality is a patronizing distraction.

Fact is, in the organization's eyes, heterosexuals are "free" to develop relationships with the opposite sex with a view to marrying. If they cannot form a relationship and marry (e.g., because they are already married, etc), it is not because of their heterosexual orientation but some other reason (usually legal or moral).

By sharp contrast, those who have homosexual orientations can do nothing other than abstain from giving anyexpression whatsoever to their sexuality - even if they are single and wanting to form a close loving authentic relationship.

Some consolation that the article takes a sugar-coated superficial "we're all the same" approach to sexual repression and condemnation.

That article is toned down compared to how it was back in the day. They told us it was developed, as one would develop a fetish.

"The real question, then, is, not how much physical harm could result from masturbation, but whether spiritual harm results. True, the words "masturbation" and "self-abuse" do not appear in the Bible. But what do you understand from the inspired counsel of the apostle Paul at Colossians 3:5? To those not wanting to lose God's approval, he says: "Deaden [Do not excite], therefore, your body members. In fact, masturbation can lead into homosexuality. In such instances the person, not satisfied with his lonely sexual activity, seeks a partner for mutual sex play. This happens much more frequently than you may realize. Contrary to what many persons think, homosexuals are not born that way, but their homosexual behavior is learned. And often a person gets started when very young by playing with another's sexual parts, and then engaging in homosexual acts. Your Youth-Getting the Best Out of it pp.35,42

I remember 20 years ago that people who had gender change surgery need to revert to the original gender they were born even when it was not possible but also dangerous. WT used to claim that same sex attraction can be changed through prayer and pioneer therapy (more field work). However, WT fails to understand complexity of human sexuality, needs for companionship, and social interraction for people with same sex attraction.
