You may not know this, but the tooth fairy's real identity was accidentally revealed a few years ago.
About 7 or 8 years ago, CTV news (in Canada) did a series of commercials. They were advertising their news reporters. After a brief intro, the reporter would appear on the screen, and a clip of one of their comments would be shown.
Well, the reporter from Parliament in Ottawa was a rather plump, sarcastic man. His line was "and I'm the tooth fairy".
So, from that day on, in our house, the tooth fairy was a middle aged, overweight, sarcastic man named Mike Duffy.
Thats really cute Princess, Liam lost a tooth a few months ago. It was a bit of a shock for him and I dont think he realized they came out! (He had an accident at school and knocked it out)
He was really hysterical so the teacher told him about the tooth fairy and he calmed down a bit until he realized he didnt have the tooth - I think he swallowed it too!
I can't imagine many children getting upset because they found out that it wasn't really the Tooth Fairy or Santa that visited them in the night.
My children believe in a real Santa and the Tooth Fairy as much as they believe in the real Mickey Mouse, Cinderella, Snow White, Ariel the little mermaid, Scooby Doo, Powerpuff Girls and every other animated creation!
As a child, my JW parents told me that if you screamed the demons entered your heart...to me, that seems more upsetting than finding out their isn't a real Santa. I remember being scared of smurfs and afraid of the dark because I had heard so many demon possessed stories.
And, as if the Bible Story book wasn't enough to make you lie in bed scared to death!
LOL @ Running Man....
cute story Princess. I would NOT advocate digging for this, um, buried treasure, heh heh.
I hope you save their teeth, I have all of my daughters. EXCEPT for her front teeth. I was going to give her $5 for each of them but was outbid by my mother and sister. Yep, she sold them to the highest bidder. $20 a chopper!
My daughter got her teeth VERY early (a mouthful by 4 months) and they all fell out early too. Try pulling the tooth of a TWO year old, LOL.
I should've invested in Anbesol because I used a TON of it to numb that last little string of flesh the tooth was hanging on to. [8>]
On the upside, because her teeth were so early, she is getting her braces OFF in two months (age 12) and all of her friends are getting theirs ON. I was like, "MUST SUCK. Going to high school as brace face, heh heh."

I didn't know about the Mike Duffy story re The Tooth Fairy. I'll be sure to ask him about it next time I see him. We've seen him a few times while shopping at the local Costco (when he isn't on the news discussing politics).
Love, Scully
Scully: Yes, please tell Mike Duffy the story. I would love to hear his response. That ad seemed to run forever. We had many late night visits from him at out house.
By the way, tell him he owes me 60 bucks.
Your stories are great. I remember the first chomp he gave me with that little tooth. I screamed.
Ok, this is what his note said:
Dear Toth Fare,
I accidently swalowed my toth. I will try not to swalow the next toth.
Love
Rhys
He was right about how much she leaves. He found $2.01 in his bed, and was thrilled. His three year old sister was excited to find the tooth fairy had taken the card she made her. She lied to her brother and said she got a doller.
She has been making fun of him for swallowing his tooth. Pretty funny, it doesn't faze him because he is the one with an extra two dollars and a hole in his mouth!
Rachel
That is so cute. I wish I was there too. When I get home, I can post the photo of him with the gap. Save the note, for a scrapbook page. There is great Tooth Fairy stuff at the scrapbook store.
