Yes Tom, I, too was hoping that the JW Apologists would come down with a SUDDEN RASH.

    What?

    What's that you say?

    Oh.....I misunderstood the question.

    My bad.

Amac is right. I was not referring to you at all, No One. I meant apologists on the board in general, not on this thread in particular.

The concept of an agnostic, JW apologist is intriguing, Amac.

And I also think that all of us who post here should be willing to have our material scrutinized and questioned. It's part of why many of us come. For the free exchange of ideas. Something we never had as JWs.

My apologies, S4. Newbie jitters, I guess. The word 'here' set me off as referring to this particular thread.

    amac:

Are you defending the Watchtower, or defending JW's? There is a big difference. They are not interchangeable.

As Anewperson loves to point out(tho worded differently), I occasionally defend/support JW's. Think about it; Bill Bowen IS still a JW and so is Barbara Anderson. There are many like them inside the org, they are not in the public eye tho. But a large number of them exist I assure you. I myself still attend the meetings, but I try not to turn in time.

    Just wondering.

"- they defend the Watchtower like paid corporate whores -"

    = lawyers or wanabe,

    watch the vocabulary,

you see they are considered 'innocent until proven guilty"

Lawyer are wiiling (for $ or prestige) to give a hardtime to anyone trying to prove her/his client guilty.

They see it as a profitable game, forget about morality even if CHILDREN have been damaged.

Defending criminals is one of the most profitable legal practice.

Criminals usually have lost of $, the more hardened the more $ they have, hey look at big D dealers.

Not all of the comments made by some the newbies are bad.

Psychdigg made a valid point about the difficulty in attaning an officially verifiable number of incodents of pediophila.

Its these sorta comments that should be responded too.

Not useless character attacks and ranting.

But none the less if you were an active JWs unaware of the whole story wouldent you want to launch an attack on Bill? So try not to too hard on them and just ignore the nonsense but respond to the reasonable arguments that they may present.

Hildabigen can for the large part be ignored. All she talks about is how the world is going to end and that she had a dream about somthing to that effect.

I think some make the mistake of labelling some who might defend aspects of Witness life or Watchtower policy as being an apologist. I think many of these people are just playing a more cautious role as they try to beat the WT at their own game without having to resort to lies and distortions to do it.

Many here that make huge exaggerations or even careless errors play right into the WT's hands by fulfilling everything they have said about "apostates".

Just because someone doesn't constantly post how much they hate the WT, doesn't mean they are not working toward the same thing you are and it doesn't mean that they are any less effective than you. In fact, I think it is these people that the Society worries more about since active Witnesses are more likely to consider something said from these ones.

I don't think 2 or 3 people qualifies as a "sudden rash of JW apologists" and I think some who have been labelled as such have been misread.

I would like to welcome those who have joined recently and also applaud Simon for his restraint.

    Hey dungbeetle...

I had to smile at this:

I myself still attend the meetings, but I try not to turn in time.
How exactly do you "try not to turn in time"? LOL
